eww.

so i wake up pretty much every morning with this gross nasty oily face. and i mean oily. i have no idea why or how to fix it. i take my makeup off at night. so i go to bed with a clean face.

any ideas why this happens? or how to fix it?

if possible.

do u sleep with a moisture on? it happenes to me to and i need to double cleanse but doesnt happen to me every every morning

hmm well i know our skin produces more oil as we sleep, but do you do anything other than just cleanse on the night?

but like my skin is so wierd after i cleanse in the morning it doesnt get oily at all and if it does its like after washing in like 9 hours and not alot of oil butt when i wake up in the morning my face is so greasy anyway i think u should use an oil control at night

Mouna, you might try using an oil controler at night. I heard once that at night our face looses 1-3 tablespoons of mositure a night (don't remember where I got that, may have read it in a magazine) In the summer my face is alot oiler when I wake up if I don't cleanse good and use an oil controler before bed,

i had that problem. untill vaseline. i was convinced my skin was going to be even oilier in the morning but its NOT. my skin is actually normal/dry but i would always wake up with super grease. now...grease factor has been cut in at least half

You might also want to use a toner after your cleanser. Use a scrub or microdermabrasion for regular exfoliation will also help.

I thought it was normal to wake up with

oily face, I don't really mind because I go straight to the shower after I wake up.

Yeah i use to use oil control butt now i use retin a gel and that drys my face anyway

Maybe your cleanser is too harsh and you are stripping away too much natural oil from your skin. Then your skin would go into over production of oil to replace it. If you want to use a good oil-free moisturzer try a hyaluronic acid serum. I know gardenofwisdom.com sells some and they aren't expensive at all.

i totally agree with taurus67 ive relized over scurbbing and washing alot and harash skincare makes my skin break out more andd makes it more oily

I have oily skin as well and I also use moisturizer at night but I don't get oily when I wakeup though.

My skin always look best in the morning or everytime I wakeup from sleep. I used to wash my face twice a day before. But, not anymore now. I only wash my face once a day with cleanser and in the morning only with a splash of water. My skin look so much better now, better than last year, when I used to wash with cleanser twice a day.

I find this totally ironic becuase I am the one who is SUPER-OILY during the day - I mean, uncontrollable, yet when I wake up in the morning my skin always feels perfect - smooth, not oily but not too dry...then as the day goes on I get greasy, bumpy, just gross.

You can use essential oil mixes to control oil at night and during the day:

EO's that help control oil include: Geranium, ylang ylang, and lemon

You can mix a couple drops of these in a sufficient amount of carrier substance such as aloe (I like the smell of ylang ylang, lemon mix) or in a vinegar/water/green tea toner

Apply before bed or in the morning, and your face oil should decrease. Note that lemon can be a photosensitizer so wear your sunscreen!

I'm not a huge fan of Clinique, but I've recently rediscovered their Pore Minimizing lotion, it keeps my face matte for hours and hours.

Try changing the pillowcase daily. I know a lot of oil builds up on it from our faces rubbing against it while we sleep.

i just started using this lotion that both my gma and great gma have used forever. their skin is so soft and smooth. im gonna see if maybe that helps.

its fruit of the earth vitamin e cream.
