Recently i have found that my skin has gone a bit strange. I seem to have red bumpy spots, kind of under the skin, over most of my cheeks. They are quite large in size and annoying the hell out of me as nothign really covers them and they wont go away. I have oily/combination skin anyway and have been using the following routine for the past couple of months with success (until now):

AM:

Neal's Yard Remedies Palmrosa face wash

Neal's Yard Rememdies Lavender Water

Olay Complete daily essentials for oily/combination/normal skin

PM:

Neal's Yard Remedies Palrmrosa face wash

Neal's Yard Remedies Lavender Water

Molton Brown Eye Resuce gel thing (can't remember the exact name)

Also once a week i've been using Neal's Yard Remedies Honey and Orange Scrub.

If anyone has any advice, i'd be very very grateful!

You probably have clogged pores caused by oily skin. I have very oily skin and tend to get lots of small, red bumps, and my dermatologist said it was clogged pores (which is different from true acne, which requires the presence of a certain bacteria).

I used to use various prescription creams, and a combination of Tazorac and Clindagel worked the best. But during the last year or so, my skin has been clearing up a lot even though it's still very oily, so I've been using drugstore products. Neutrogenia On-The-Spot treatment has worked wonders for me -- it has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, which is just as effective as the 10% solutions most other brands make but much less drying for your skin! I also cleanse and exfoliate with Cetaphil cleanser and a Buf Puf sponge per my dermatologist's orders

However I haven't found anything that helps with the oily skin

I have a lot more info on acne and oily skin in my notepad, just click the link in my signature! Hope that helps!

Sounds like a bit of an allergic reaction...could be from any of the products you mentioned..I would probably start eliminating them one by one..to see which one does what...

That's interesting. I just look up Neal's Yard Remedies and they're all natural products. Have you recently switched any of the cosmetics (if any) that you're using. I can't imagine NYR breaking you out. It's possible, but I would first pinpoint it to possible change in cosmetics, diet or drinking habits (water).

Just like people can be allergic to poison ivy or oranges (both natural) you can be allergic to a natural skin care line. I think both thoughts above have a ring of truth. This could be an allergic reaction...or it could be the bactria. Does this company use anything to keep the product fresh and not allow it to go rancid? (rotten) Think of friut in your yard or basket in the kitchen...they eventually go bad.

I never heard of the company before but will say that if you think you are allergic, stop and introduce them back one at a time.

If you would like to try something new, I suggest using witch hazel until you make a switch.

We currently are only in the USA and Canada but plan to launch International this year sometime. Feel free to sign my guest book by visiting the website below for future updates. (45 day money back guarentee and a person on hand to help all the time.) If anyone else has this problem I would reccomend checking out the clear advantage system and the thermal fusion masque. I have seen top of the line results with both. This company is known as the best of Science and Nature.

Private message me if anyone has questions. I would love to help out.

Happy 4th everyone!

Ann

i had the same problem and salicylic acid products helped greatly to get it under control. hope you find something that works. keep us posted.

well i think it may be the new bronzer i was using, so i've stopped wearing it and hopefully my skin will get better. it's really making me feel a bit depressed as i've started a new job and i know that people keep staring at my skin and it's only a matter of time before someone asks me what's wrong with my awful skin!

I get issues like that from using hydroxy acid products, or anything with a fragrance. If it happens, I immediately switch to Aveeno soothing facial wash or oatmeal soap, or Cetaphil. Sometimes, an external chemical in the air causes skin problems, too. I was exposed to some toxic fumes a couple months ago and got some horrible raised pustules on my skin just from chemicals in the air.

oohhh i hadn't thought about things int he air causing it, i have recently moved back home after university this year and being in london, there's more fumes than in durham, so it may be the pollution affecting my skin.....

Hi

I can understand your problem.

But I am recommending you to take proper diet, proper rest, and good nutrition because all these things lay the foundation for beautiful, healthy skin, inside and outside.

Sound sleeping is also necessary for healthy skin. This could be an allergic reaction.

There are various skin care products. I am not medical practitioner, but you can use Cleocin-T solution, twice daily to affected area. Because I had already suffered with this type of problem and I had used same solution. It would be very effective for you.

Thanks for the link, i will have to check that out! I know what you mean about getting a proper night's sleep, but at the moment thats impossible as i've just started a new job for the summer and i'm working all the hours that god sends to get enough money to pay my way through university next year. i guess it's adding to my stress and i know i'm not eating right!
I haven't been wearing my bronzer for a while and my skin has cleared up slightly, but not completely and it's still visible now! guess i shall just have to wash with water for a bit and then re-introduce my skincare and see what happens. thanks for your advice girls!
