My skin has cleared up soooo much!

back in june of last year, i made a thread venting about my skin and how it hasn't been clear since the beginning of last year. well, it finally cleared up 90%!

guess how? eating right and drinking lots and lots of water.

last night, i ate some junk and today, i woke up with 2 zits.

i heard conflicting things about your food and skin and never listened, but now i believe there is a huge connection.

anyway, this is kinda pointless, but i'm just so happy because it was so depressing how bad my skin got.

oh, and here's what i've been doing to keep up with it...

  • i cleanse with dove's bar soap morning and night
  • i follow with either wet 'n wild's moisturizer with spf 15 or cetaphil moisturizing cream
  • i exfoliate with baking soda
  • i rotate masks (queen helene, freeman, etc.)
 
Congrats Jen! I know drinking lots of water always helps my skin. Even though I don't get much acne anymore it just helps to keep my skin hydrated.

 
I am sooo glad it's clearing up for you! I noticed a big big differance in my complextion when I started being a freak about water - and I need to start doing that again, but I have found a new obsession for Diet Coke LOL!

that's fantasic jennifer! i, for one, totally agree that food has a direct connection to the appearance of my skin. it may not be that way for everyone, but some of us have to be mindful about what goes in, as well as on our bodies! congrats on your success!

 
That is wonderful!! I also have been downing tons of water. My face has cleared up just since joining this site. I have gotten such great advise by surfing around.

I do try and drink loadsa water but im not good at it maybe a couple of glasses a day is all i seem to do gonna try and drink at least 5 from now on, going to be stronger haha

my skin was doing ok for a whlie, but started to freak out, so I have to watch what I eat too. Thanks for the reminder!

 
There's a huge connection between food and acne, I've been trying to teach this to people with acne prone skin, but a lot don't listen and don't believe there's a connection. Staying away from breads, sugars and milk products will improve your skin by a ton.

 
I'm a health freak (with eating) most the time I drink water and it does make a difference!

i drink water but i don't think i drink enough, though i can see the difference.
