I have a lot of scarring from past acne but when i put foundation and powder on my face u can see the poke marks through the make up its like open pores or like someones been poking my face with a pen and it makes the dent dot mark. Any advice girls?

You can probably try some foundation primer?  Have you tried any?  I am not a foundation primer person so as for brands and stuff, I'm not too familiar, but I hope we get some replies on that, but I know some of them fill pores and help create a smoother surface to apply makeup.  I know of Clinique has a primer/pore filler (for want of a better word) that my friend has tried and really loves.  Hope we get some more suggestions.

I have also heard that the Clinique primer works well, not sure about the name though.

Benefit PoreFections is another option. I own it myself and it works better than other primers because it´s thick. You can really pat it on your indented scars or areas with enlarged pores, and it fills them in quite nicely.

Watch this video, he has pretty severe scarring and if it works on his skin it´ll probably work equally well on anybody with acne scars

In terms of treating those scars, check out the scar forums on acne.org. There is sooo much helpful information on there! Improvement is rarely 100%, but there are definitely procedures you can have done that will improve your scars if you want to.

MAC prep+prime or Makeup Forever HD primer, they both work well to fill in pores and smooth your skin's surface.

If it's really deep and you feel one coat isn't enough wait until it's dry and apply a second coat of primer above the first. That's what Koren (enkore makeup on YT) has suggested and demosntrated on deep acne scars.

I have a similar problem to yours and what I use is the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. It works really well for me. I don't know if you have it in the UK. I searched "Smashbox UK" and it popped up, so my guess is that you do. It's about $36 here in the US and it lasts awhile.

I actually just watched a video by a professional makeup artist on this, he has bad acne scarring too.  Same video the other ladies suggested actually (enkore)
