Just wanted to know what you suggest for moisturizers for:

- before makeup

- before going to sleep

I have oily skin (on Proactiv), but I also have dry skin (just my cheeks) >_<

I'd heard of MAC's oil control moisturizer...but I'm not sure if it's the best thing out there :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I have Combo-oily skin and I'm currently using EL Daywear spf 15 Lotion for daily moisturizer and before makeup as well, and I love it.

For night moisturizer, I'm using EL hydracomplete lotion and so far I really like it.

I can only recommend you EL Daywear spf 15 Lotion for daily moisturizer because I'm on my second bottle now.

I don't really believe in oil control moisturizer products because they never work for me, but I do think mask for oily skin is really good to control oily skin.

I've been using clay mask for oily skin, and it's really worked!

I use Black Opal's Oil free moisturiser....I also have oily skin (t-zone) and that mattifies it and keeps it that way for about 3-4 hrs...after i just use blotting paper of oil control powder

At the moment i'm using Olay Complete Moisturiser with spf15 for combination/oily skin and i quite like it. I tried a sample of EL Daywear that Leony mentioned and i'd like to buy that next!

I dont use a night cream yet!

Origins has a line for oily skin. I can't think of any specific names off hand, but if you go to their website, I am sure you can find a lot of items perfect for oily skin.

I have oilycombo skin, my favourite moisturisers so far are Clinique's daramtically different moisturizing gel and Shiseido's matifying moistrizer.

you could use them alone or under makeup, and i do use one of them as a night cream too sometimes...

I used EL Daywear for a long time too and really liked it. I like to have the SPF in the day moisturizer instead of applying a separate sunscreen. Another product I like is Chanel Rectifiance Intense (anti aging retexturizing Fluid with SPF 15. It leaves a really matte finish but I noticed that during winter time it doesn't give me quite enough moisture.

i also have combination oily skin and i've been using murad energizing pomegranate spf15 moisturizer. i think that i may buy it again. the best thing i've found so far to keep the oil in check with drying out my skin.

I use climate control and evening and daytime moisturizer by senegence. I can send you samples if you want to try it.

Dawn

I read up quite a few reviews on makeupalley.com and found quite a few reviews that said that daywear wasn't good for acne...same with dramatically different, shiseido's matifying moisturizers, and olay's.

I guess it really depends on your face correct...?

Maybe I should ask further:

- a moisturizer for oily skin (acne issues!)

- does not make acne worse lol (sort of like the previous one..)

- prevents shine when wearing it

- includes SPF

- decently priced

If there isn't a moisturizer..any other suggestions? Just blotting? Do you guys really blot like every hour or so o_O And what blotting papers do you recommend?

I use Clinique Superdefence SPF 45 for Combo skin (absolutely love it, has totally changed the way my skin looks) and at night use Clinique Turnaround.

I like it because it doesn't clog the pores and I have totally seen a difference in the way my skin looks. I've noticed after 30 skin doesn't look as good as it did at 25.

Try the sample, you will love it.

The day cream though is pricey $55, night cream is $45

I've never been able to find a right moisturisure for my skin. None seem to do a good job. I've tried high end and low end, but none really do it. Theyre usually too greasy and make me break out. Not good. :icon_conf

I have really oily acne pronce skin. I use Mary Kay Velocity moisturizer in the morning because it is moisturizing and helps keep my skin from getting too oily. At night I like to use Mary Kay Oil-free hydrating gel for extra moisturizer that isn't too goopy or gross. I have a seperate anti-aging product with SPF in it.

I also really liked Aubrey Organic's moisturizer for oily skin. It is really nice and lightweight, but it just didn't have the extra hydrating for the dry spots.

It took me forever to find the right moisturizer and I tried a ton of different products. Make sure you buy from places that will let you return! I love Nordstrom so much because when all my Clinique stuff didn't work I was able to return it with no hassle.

I guess yes, it's depending on each person's skin. Maybe the product it's not good for skin with active acne, because it worked for my combo-oily acne prone skin.

About the shine thing, have you tried using mask for oily skin?

I used to blot a lot, but that was before I start using oil control mask for oily skin from MB. Not anymore now. I guess the mask really work for my combo-oily skin.

Perhaps you should check the label ingredients of the products first, check here for ingredients that cause acne to flare up.

Good luck.

try Eucerin skin relief SPF 15 Day Lotion. I think it's great because it also acts as an exfoliant.

Masks tend to really dry up my skin and makes things worse O_O I have acne problems BUT also dry skin O_O

I'm using Olay Complete too - the lotion formula as opposed to cream. It's lighter than the cream (better for oily skin) and is a good all-rounder and not expensive either :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Will stick with it for now I think

i'm going to take a shot at olay complete for now..will let you know how it goes!

aveeno's moisturizer worked for me. but i also here clinique has a great toner for all skin types. my sister had problem skin, and she uses that now. she loves it

Ok, you asked for a moisturizer that contains SPF but keep in mind anything that contains SPF is always oily even if they say the moisturizer is oil free, & the higher the SPF content the oilier it is. While it is true that Clinique makes a great moisturizer called SuperDefense that comes in 3 formulas, 1 being for oily skins, the bottom line is it will still saturate your face with sheen. And btw it is called SuperDefense SPF 25 (not 45 as someone else mentioned). I don't know your climate but this is Feb & it is cold here, so if it's cold where you are & the sun rays aren't too strong then I'd suggest you use Clinique's Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty instead (no SPF) because it will hydrate your skin yet leave it matt in appearance. If you still feel dry you can always apply a 2nd coat of Moisture Surge & surely that will do it. It is a oil free gel that sinks below the surface of your skin leaving you completely hydrated without the greasy sheen. If you do go with a SPF moisturizer be prepared to buy face powder to take the sheen away as well.
