my mum bought me a moisturizer from shiseido... the bio-performance whitening stuff.... but i heard that it`s for mature skin.. im 18 yrs old... but when i used it.. i like it a lot.. should i continue using it or give it back to my mum to use???? :stupidme:

I was using olay regenerist...which is for mature skin and an aesthetician told me i shouldn't be using it...its too harsh for my skin. (I'm 22)

But before i learnt that i used it for about a year. And my skin seems pretty normal. I don't know if there are long term effects though.

it's a long story lol but i'll try to make it short. its just cuz i was raised by my grandma who kept pushing the aesthetic of pale skin on me, even though i'm naturally brown, and so is she. most of my family in the philippines insist i stay inside and wear sunscreen, etc. Sometimes I get offered whitening stuff in the stores but I'm like arghh, I'm brown, deal with it!! So i just have this complex about it lol. :vogel:

Yeah I am currently using Olay regenerist cloths, the ones you have to wet and they sud up. I used one of my dads' girlfriends when I did not have my usual face wash... but I love love love it. It is meant for more mature skin, but I dont want to stop using it.. I'm 22 as well. I was also wondering if there was any harm in it...

Hi,

Go to their website and see what the product's really all about before putting it on your skin. As an esthetician, if a product is for mature skin, I don't put it on a young person's skin that has a lot more elasticity, quicker renewal capabilities and better moisture retention.

well shiseido is one of my favorite, but bio performance is expensive if you want to maintain. plus its more suitable for mature skin. do you have dry skin?

shiseido's the skincare line is really good IMO, ranging for normal -combo - dry skintypes. i always find shiseido products to be gentle and effective. and also try shiseido's white lucent line, its cheaper then bio performance if you have dry skin and want brightening as well.
