AHAVA Purifying Mud Mask
The AHAVA Purifying Mud Mask is made from kaolin and silt (Dead Sea Mud) along with mineral spring water and other ingredients. On the AHAVA website they state, "purifies and restores skin to reveal a brighter, even toned, radiant complexion."
The texture of the mud was nice - it was nice and thick without being too thick so it spread easily over my face. The smell was pleasant and wasn't overpowering. I've used some masks - some I love and some I didn't care for - where the scent was very strong. I applied a small dollop of mask to my the palm of my hand before spreading it over my face. Within a minute after applying it, my cheeks and forehead began to itch and my skin felt like it was burning. I kept the mask on my face for two minutes and when I rinsed it off my face was bright red and I had a small rash on my cheeks. No where on the tube packaging does it say not to use if you have hypersensitive skin it does on their website in the list of ingredients but on the tube itself it states, "approved for sensitive skin. Allergy tested". The box it came in was tossed because it was among the items that was damaged by the shampoo and conditioner leaking in my trolly so I don't know if the box contains the same warning as on the website. So be warned that if you have hypersensitive skin this may not be for you.
I'll be passing this mud mask to my daughters since I can't use it but they might be able to that or I may find another use for it such as using it on my feet or hands instead of my face. At this point in time I won't use it again for my face.
This item was also seen in the September Sample Society box as a travel size item. I know there was some concern about products possibly being expired but I think the numbers at the top represent a lot number and not an expiration date.
