I have heard of these but do they actually work? I want to go to a derm to get rid of some red acne scarring but its too expensive for me right now. If you have a microdermabrasion kit, how much did it cost, and how well does it work?

Hun, I am going to move this thread to the Skincare Forum... It will get better responses there since that is a specialized forum for everything Skincare related.

There's so much hype over these microdermabrasion kits that I am dying to try one. I just don't know which one! I have some acne scarring on my temples which I would love to get rid of. My only concern is that microdermabrasion will make me break out!

ok, thats Naturally! I will have to try one out soon, but i want to be free of breakouts before i do

Hi! I use the Olay Microdermabrasion kit and it's awsome! For 2x weekly usage, I'm seeing this lasting me 3-4 months. Likewise, when I was doing the scrub 1x weekly, it was lasting about 6-7 months. I used to use Philosophy's kit for several years before switching to Olay, and from experience you can get these jars to stretch for a good long time. :icon_smil

my sister got me the Roc microdermabrasion system for Christmas, I really like it so far, and im already starting to notice small differences after only using it a few times. my pores looks much smaller and my skin is so smooth, no more flaky skin on my forehead!

My gorgeous friend from work who is as much of a makeup whore as I am says that she loves the Origins microderm kit. I have been too afraid to try it with my fair, very sensitive skin, but I am hopeful that since it's gotten rid of scarring for some folks, it might help my rosacea skin appear less red and blotchy. Has anyone tried getting this done at a salon? I'd be curious to know how well salon microderm treatments work.

I'm with Trisha on the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion In a Jar-- its a great product. Its a little expensive but lasts a long time-- I only use it 2x week. I just got the OLAY kit but I wont try it until I'm finished the Dr. Brandt one-- I think its good too- its got some great reviews

I just bought one today (the name actually just escaped me, lol)

gonna try it tonight!

I just started using the Olay Microdermabrasion kit and think it is great.Compare to the prices of other kits this one isn't so bad and it works really well.

I purchased the Olay one too, about 2 weeks ago, and I follow it up with Regenerist Day Serum, and every time I use it someone wants to know what I have to my skin, so I use it 2 times a week like it says in the directions, very happy with it!

I use the life brand kit (from shoppers drug mart). I like it, my skin feels much smoother. However, I have broken out alot since, Does that go away then?

I love dr. brandt microdermabrasion. But its soo expensive. It smoothes my skin and even out my skin tone.

Physician's Complex microdermabrasion cream. It is pricey, I think around $50, but it is the best I have tried. Leaves your skin so smooth and soft.
