Hi everyone

After losing 2 stone I decided I needed to be fitted for a new bra.

I was wearing 38f this is after I was measured which was comfortable until it was too big. The next time I got measured she said I needed 40g. The bones do not fit flush to my rib cage but she said the rest of the bra fits perfects so its fine. I know it isnt but I was desparte for something better fitting.

Iv been wearing this for a month or two now. Cup size is fine. I have the bra on the central hooks. Its too big on the largest but its rubbing like mad.

I come home at the end of the with large red marks under my breasts and at one point I had a small open sore.

Clearly this fitting isnt right. Any ideas?

Im about to go and take my own measurements and see what I come up with.

Thanks

The centre hooks are where you are supposed to be but if it is rubbing on you and cutting under your breasts, it could be the design of the bra.  I have bras - all the same size, but some fit better than others because of the cut and style because they affect the support they provide.  I would go try on some more.

I would try some more, but it's hard to find a bra over ddd/e. I honestly don't know where I'm going to shop when I'm done with maternity bras.

Yes, try to measure yourself and then try more bras starting from your measures. Sometimes, the ladies who are supposed to help make it worse. The number of times i heard i should increase the band size when in reality, it was the cup size that was too small *big eyeroll*

I can suggest a UK based online store (they ship internationally) named Bravissimo. The only thing i have noticed with them is according to their brands and designs, i can vary in cup and band size, which has become annoying over time. Do check their clothes section, i have a few tops from them and yay for roomy tops !

I can also suggest a brand named Prima Donna. They cost a certain amount of money to be honest, but they're all very sexy, offer a great support and you can find bras up to H cups, which is very rare in my country.

Different shapes make a huge difference.  With the size that I am, it seems 3/4 of the bras I find in my size are "full coverage" for larger breasted folks, but since I'm extremely petite, full coverage ends up covering my entire chest practically up to my neck.  Not comfortable!

(I'm 30D/32C -- omg I'm normally 32C but I had such troubles finding a strapless that fit me, I finally went down to the size 30 to find one that fits me, and the 30C was wayy too small.  the 30D that I bought JUST arrived at my house last week and I'm really surprised that the D cup fits so well, I always had a rough time with being a C cup as it was.)

As far as cup sizes go, remember the cup sizes change depending on band size.  I was popping out of the 30C (like 1/3 of my breasts were bulging out), but a 32C cup fits me perfectly.  (The 30D cup size fit me perfectly as well)  I would assume that a 34B would be the same cup size, however a 34 band size is about 3 inches too big on me (I should be a size 31, but they don't make them in odd sizes), which obviously makes the bra not a fit, even if the cup size itself was a perfect fit.

If you go to a bra specialty store, they usually have a wider variety of sizes, then go home and shop online for those sizes.  If a bra fits right, it should have chafing or too much rubbing.  You're scooping your breasts into the cup so that the wire isn't cutting it off right?  Not every bra is the same, even the same size bra might not fit you in a different style.  I mostly stick to demi-bras myself because of the way they fit, and because they're a bit smaller which helps out my personal size issues.

Thats for all the replys. Iv found that Marks and Spencers bras fit me the best.I usually buy them on ebay as I get the brand new for 25% of the price. Its one of those im wearing now. Sometimes though it feels like its pressing very tightly on my rib cage is horrible.

Im getting money for xmas so I was considering trying loads on and treating myself (and OH)  to something sexy.

Actually going to be near a hugh M&S this Friday so think il try some one there.

The one the person fitted me felt fine for the first few days than the trouble started.

oh another thing too...if you buy from a store that has a brick and mortar near you, a lot of places have "return to the store" options.  Just try it on when you get it mailed to you, then return it to the store if it doesn't.  (that way you don't have to worry about return shipping)

That's what I did from Macy's.  I bought a 30C, 30D, and 32C online.  I'm going to take the 30C back to the store since it didn't fit, and I would have never been able to find that size in the store had I tried shopping there.  Just make sure you know the return policy before ordering!

Hi guys,

just wanted to let you know iv been re measured and fitted to a 42E. Its much more comfy and a miles better fit. Even tried a new style of bra i would never have picked out, its sooooooooooo comfy lol

Good for you ! Lol, yes it's easy to rediscover the different types of bras when you've found the right size. My now favorite brand has such pretty designs i'm rediscovering the joys of full cup bras.
