Does anyone know any good face masks that help drastically diminish oiliness from super oily skin? Also preferrably something for sensitive skin too.

Kaolin clay and rose water would be a good one to absorb the oil and clear pores as a mask but masks are not going to prevent any more oil from coming after the mask is gone. Have you tried the Oil Cleansing Method?

The Oil Cleansing Method - A simple, cleansing facial massage for clear skin!

I have read many good things about it. I use oils to clean my make up off at the end of the day. It has done wonders for my skin in terms of evening out the texture and the combo skin. My mix is 60% jojoba, 20% castor and 20% grapeseed.

I think that it is a vicious cycle when you are trying to remove all that oil with products that leave your skin feeling dry and taught. Your skin's reaction would be to make more oil. I use a microfibre cleansing cloth to remove the oil and makeup and dirt. I use an alcohol free toner to remove the rest of the oiliness away. It does take time for your skin to adjust but from the forums and the threads here, and myself, its worth a try.

Here's my specs: I've been doing this for almost a year. I have eczema on my face that is aggravated by many many things including water drying on my face. I'm not acne prone and I have combination skin. I'm in my 40's but no wrinkles yet and minimal sun damage.

Kaolin is very good, you can also try lavender water instead of rose (or a drop of lavender essential oil in the mixture). Green clay is a tad stronger, but i personally never had any issues with it.

I use oil cleansing and it's the gentlest thing i've found to wash my skin. It only takes away impurities, dirt and makeup, but it won't dry out your skin.

I know I'll appreciate my oikly skin eventually someday...I hope. When I don't get wrinkles as fast as I age, but in the meantime, it's not fun.

The oil cleansing method I may try. I guess I'm skeptical of washing my already extremely oily face w/...oil. I wonder how that's going to work?

Yes, I've heard clay absorbs oil. Are there various kinds of clay out there? I guess kaolin's the best for oily skin right?

There are different types of clay, yes. Technically they all take off excess oil and impurities, but each type of clay matches a type of skin.

Green clay is ideal for oily skins, but kaolin (aka white clay) is softer especially if you have a sensitive skin.

You can also try yellow clay (it's for combination to oily sensitive skins), although it may be harder to find.

i saw some on sephora..(i forget the brand, i think phisology, or however you spell it makes a good one)....

I understand how it may sound contradictory with the method of using oil to get rid of oil but you also have to understand that certain oils like castor oil and grapeseed oil are astringent and will remove more oil that impart it on your face. Jojoba oil is a liquid wax that is very close to sebum created by the skin. I would suggest a 60% jojoba to 40%castor. The oil mixture will dissolve the oils that may be clogging your skin, and dissolve oils on your face making it easy to be wiped away.
It doesn't leave your skin dry like the chemical cleansers you would use for oily skin that will strip oil from your face. How will your skin react when it is stripped of its oils? Make more oil!!! Your skin will quickly find a balance and it will start to become less oily.

It did sound crazy but google it and read about it. Give it a try and please don't become discouraged because your skin will purge in about a week or 2. If you give it the proper amount of time as a trial period, you won't be disappointed in the end.

Kaolin clay is the cheapest clay to buy. Start with that, mix with some rosewater and let it sit on your face til it dries.

A good toner would be 40% witchhazel, 50% rosewater or hydrosol or water, 10% glycerin. I have found rosewater with glycerin at walmart and some drugstores (right beside the witchhazel) so you can probably go with 40% witchhazel and 60% rosewater with glycerin.

Do you ladies do the OCM every night? I was reading online that the castor could dry out your skin over time if you do it every night.

I don't know about castor oil, i keep it for my nails, but i haven't met this problem with sweet almond.

Back to the masks, Decleor also has a mask called aroma purete, with different plant extracts. It's a tad pricey, but it really works and it smells so good it helps you relax.

Try one called Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque - costs $4 at drugstores. It's good for sucking dirt out of pores, and also keeps the oiliness away for a few hours. Not many masques are going to stop oiliness for very long though. I've probably tried a hundred of them! The Mint Julep is good for shrinking blemishes too. If you have a pimple, put a little of the masque on it overnight and it will be half way gone by morning. If you want something to soak up oil during the day, try a face powder called Mattify Powder. I usually have to use oil blotting papers every hour, but when I put the Mattify Powder under and over my makeup, I don't have to use a blot sheet for almost 4 hours. Hope this helps you out!

Try juara lime & cucumber mask, it's very good to remove the oil on your face and it's great for sensitive skin. Also, watch your diet and drink a lot of water. I changed my routine and I really noticed a difference on my skin, no more oily skin for me! Now I have more combination skin, which is a lot better!
