The oil cleansing method I may try. I guess I'm skeptical of washing my already extremely oily face w/...oil. I wonder how that's going to work?
Yes, I've heard clay absorbs oil. Are there various kinds of clay out there? I guess kaolin's the best for oily skin right?
I understand how it may sound contradictory with the method of using oil to get rid of oil but you also have to understand that certain oils like castor oil and grapeseed oil are astringent and will remove more oil that impart it on your face. Jojoba oil is a liquid wax that is very close to sebum created by the skin. I would suggest a 60% jojoba to 40%castor. The oil mixture will dissolve the oils that may be clogging your skin, and dissolve oils on your face making it easy to be wiped away.
It doesn't leave your skin dry like the chemical cleansers you would use for oily skin that will strip oil from your face. How will your skin react when it is stripped of its oils? Make more oil!!! Your skin will quickly find a balance and it will start to become less oily.
It did sound crazy but google it and read about it. Give it a try and please don't become discouraged because your skin will purge in about a week or 2. If you give it the proper amount of time as a trial period, you won't be disappointed in the end.
Kaolin clay is the cheapest clay to buy. Start with that, mix with some rosewater and let it sit on your face til it dries.
A good toner would be 40% witchhazel, 50% rosewater or hydrosol or water, 10% glycerin. I have found rosewater with glycerin at walmart and some drugstores (right beside the witchhazel) so you can probably go with 40% witchhazel and 60% rosewater with glycerin.
