i am looking for a mask to add into my daily and/or weekly routine. which brand/type of mask is best for acne prone skin? something that is DEEP cleaning yet not too overdrying. Something thats effective, refreshing,,,perhaps even exfoliating?

I'd suggest a clay mask... It sucks up the oil without drying your skin out. I know there's good one in drugstores if you want to check it up. St. Ives and Olay are supposed to be quite effective. Maybe check out Make-Up Alley reviews. Good luck !

I really like Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. It leaves my skin feeling really clean, and I really like the fact that it makes my large pores appear way smaller-- try it out its pretty cheap too

Agree with foreverxsummer, try clay mask.

Clay mask is really good for oily/acne prone skin.

I love Clay mask.

I like Got To Be In Your Face Clay Mask $3.29 @ Walgreens for oil control

and QH Mint Julep Mask for acne

both of these are good, and effective!

My friend swears by Avon's True Pore-Fection Skin Refining Mask, and she has slightly oily and blemished skin. Or I say 'had'. It's cleared up, and she says it's due to this mask. I remember her telling me how crazy it was when she first used it - she's always had trouble with blackheads, and the mask "sucked them out" according to her. I thought she was going to cry when she told me about it the day after! Lol.

It's a clay mask with micro-beads in it (it also has small amounts of glycolic and salicylic acid), so you get the deep cleaning plus the exfoliation you were looking for.

Murad's clay sulfur mask is pretty good. The sulfur disinfects the acne bacteria but without the stinging.

though i agree that clay masks are probablly the most effective for sucking out yuckies from the skin, i have dry skin and want to dunk my head in a bucket of oil once i wash them off. a few years ago i bought the tea tree oil mask from the body shop and have been using it ever since. it is a non-drying mask so it wont give you that itchy flakey feeling like clay masks do when they dry. what it does do though is basically the same thing as a clay mask, and it also gives you that really deep clean, tingling feeling, and the tea tree oil is really good for acne treatment.

I use and like End Zit from Skin Rx. It's a sulfur and clay based mask. I was messing around on the computer last night and was too lazy to wash it off. I ended up leaving it on for a couple of hours and when I washed it off my face my so smooth and I didn't have a pore in sight. I think I will leave it on longer from now on.

I would recommend a mask I get from Bath and Body Works. It's from the Pure Simplicity line; It's called a Neem mask. It's clay based and uses neem. Seriously it makes my acne prone, oily face look so much better. It's $18.50 for an 8 oz little tub. It's a little pricey IMO but it's really not more than Neutrogena stuff. It's almost full proof.

It's called Pure Simplicity Neem Pore Refining Face Mask

I am a mask junkie! I used to use DDF's Sulfur mask. My face felt really clean afterwards but at the same time dry. I tend to have oily skin so even the clay and sulfur mask made my skin more oily afterwards, so I guess you could wash it off before the mask totally dries. You can also use the DDF as a spot acne treatment.

Another one I really recommend is Juara's Lime Puree & Cucumber clarifying mask. Its perfect for combination or oily skin and it doesn't have irritating fragrance but still smells soo natural and refreshing. It exfoliates, really does a good job on the pores, doesn't overdry at all and is so soothing. I'm still young so my hormones are probably all over the place and after a grosse humid day the mask really decongests my skin. I just bought a

1 oz. travel size just to see, i think around $10 and I'm def. gonna get the full size. Try them out! :]

i love origins out of trouble mask. it is a clay masque w/ salicylic acid. it may be just what you're looking for! i have oily acne prone skin and i use it weekly to keep everything under control. if you're looking for something alittle less expensive try queen helene mint julep masque. a really good product at a drug store price!
