What do you think of LUSH products? Love them, hate them? Do you think they're WAYY overpriced?? Do you think the packaging is good enough? What would you change about them if you could?

Alright I'll have to restate my question... What do you NOT like about LUSH products? What would you change??

I find that it's great that they're pushing natural skin care, but it's way over priced for my taste.. For 20 bucks you don't even get 2 weeks worth of whatever product you wanna use. Also, I find that the smells are quite strong. I'd prefer milder, more soothing fragrances.

I've never tried them, but as far as i saw, it seems that they're not THAT monstruously expensive. Here in brazil some of their stuff can even be considered reasonable (considering that imported stuff here are EXTREMELY overpriced). But i think that USA prices are less expensive than canadian ones. I was checking out their soaps and they cost 8 dollars. Of course, it's more expensive than a regular soap, but it can be considered reasonable, because of their properties (vegan, handmade, natural, etc)

I have not tried them, but Lisa (little_lisa) really wants me to get some stuff. She is a big user.

I have never tried it. It's not available where I live that I'm aware of. I know Marisol loves their stuff though.

I've had Lush on my "to do" list for quite some time. Maybe I'll get to it one of these days.

I dont think that they are overpriced. Well maybe the bath bombs but the rest of the products last a long time or at least longer than two weeks. I had the coconut shampoo car and it cost around $12 and it lasted about 3 months of constant use. Some of their products (like their face masks) dont last long because they are natural and they would spoil but you are told that before you purchase them. Have you tried that brand?

I really like their 'honey I washed the kids' soap, and the karma one, and my dad loves demon in the dark. I think there are a few milder scents, but they're hard to choose since the shop knocks you out 3 blocks before you get to it :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I think they're reasonably priced in australia. I was reading their catalogue today actually, what a coincidence! and they SAID that the reason their packaging sucks balls is because otherwise they'd have to make their products more expensive, or compromise the quality of their ingredients. Personally, I take the packaging off pretty much as soon as I buy something, so it doesn't matter to me how they wrap it.

No because whenever I go there I'm always turned off by the smell. Besides, I make my own skin products from natural ingredients.. This is kind of why I'm asking.. I'm toying with the idea of actually selling them....

I hate them. Just a personal preference thing though, I know a lot of people who love them. I could pick fault with everything I've bought from there.

Handmade they are, but the majority of their products are not natural. Nature doesn't produce bright pink bath bombs that smell of candy …etc. That doesn't bother me though, natural isn't always better (IMHO).

What I don't like is the smell from the shop – it makes me gag and gives me a headache, it's so strong. Individually their stuff smells lovely, but altogether – erch.

They use SLS in their bubbling products and I don't like their soaps. They are made from a soap base that also has SLS in and they dry my skin right out.

I am a bit of a soap snob though because I make my own bath & body products.

They're ok, my mum loves their stuff...I personally adore the Ultra Bland Cleanser 9an oil based cleanser which removes EVERYTHING); but they don't appeal to me as much as The Body Shop so I don't really like Lush.

EXACTLY!! I love the idea of handmade products with quality ingredients, but I'm very picky about smells.. I can't even stand most things from The Body Shop :nixweiss:

What's SLS?

I don't make soap but I started making my own lotions and I looooooove it :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Well i like lush, the smells don't bother me and i love their soaps and face washes. IMHO!

The scent is strong but that is just in the store.

Good luck if you do decide to make your own products.

if you don't mind the scent of their products individually, you can buy them online and avoid going into their shops :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> just a suggestion..

I like the idea of making my own stuff but I'm too lazy, and it's so MESSY. I hate any hobby that is messy since I'm terribly disorganised.

Sodium Laurel Sulphate, it's a surfactant that makes things bubble. Some surfactants are more gentle but SLS is a harsher one. If you look at the ingredients lists of probably around 90% of the commercial products on the shelves that bubble (shampoo, shower gel, 'soap' bars etc) they will like list SLS or SLeS. And it will be near the top of the list too.

Lots of people are ok with it, but my skin is quite sensitive and drys out so easily that it just doesn't like it.

I love making lotions too - when I first started I was never interested in making soap but once I had a go at it, I got completely addicted!

Hi,

Good luck to you.
