Hey--I'm looking for a heating tool which will help produce tight spiral curls for as long as possible. My hair is thick so I want them to hold.

First do you recommend a curling iron or curling wand? Also 1 inch or 1.25 inches?

The two products I'm debating are the Hot Tools 1' 1/4'' curling iron:http://www.amazon.com/Hot-Tools-Professi…

And the NUME 32 mm curling wand: http://www.numeproducts.com/classic-curl…

Which one would be better in your opinion? Also do you have any suggestions not on the list? I'm more concerned about how long the curls will hold as opposed to shape. And I've had a bad experience with Conair products so I'm trying to avoid them at the moment :/

Thanks! x

Hey, if you have a curling iron, I suggest that you just unscrew the clamp and use the bare iron as your heating element for spiral curls. Just wrap your hair around the curling iron close together and your curls will be tight. Hairspray them to keep them in tact for long periods of time, and possibly use curl inducing serums for a better chance.
It works so well for me, and I saved all the screws and the clamp in a little plastic baggy incase I ever want to put it back together (though I don't think I will).
Hope this helps a little bit!
Just trying to save you a little cash.
