Lisr ; Sorry, I don't have the 50 posts needed to answer you privately.
It took about 3 or 4 weeks for my skin to clear up after I started with the Paula's 2% BHA (back then it was a lotion, I started using it in 1997!). I read in Paula's book, I think it was the Beauty Bible, that you get worse before you get better. I could see some of the breakouts getting better while new ones kept cropping up. To hustle the breakouts on their way, I used Neutrogena's 2.5% benzoil peroxide after the BHA dried. For the "zits that ate Chicago," I dabbed clay mask on the breakouts at bedtime and left it overnight. The clay dries them up faster. As long as you are seeing some of the breakouts getting better, while new ones crop up, you should be fine. Sooner or later, you'll have cleared all that gunk out and be on your way to a clear face. This regimen works on both of my kids, though my son (19) refuses to have anything to do with the clay mask! If you can't find a good clay mask, try Queen Helene's mink julep mask. BTW, DAB the mask on, don't sleep with a face covered in the mask, you'll dry out the non-broken-out parts of your face. Any questions or anything, write again.....Best, Meg
