Well taken care of lips are very sensual and attractive. Soft and healthy looking skin contribute to a sweet and sexy look because they attract attention towards the face. Chapped, flaky lips are both uncomfortable and unaesthetic and winter helps contribute to these negative effects. To make your lips appear luscious and healthy you need to know how to care for them:

1) exfoliate your lips with homemade lip scrubs made with sea salt and honey. The salt will gently remove the flakes of your lips and the honey will offer the moisture they need

2) apply a chapstick over your lips because they provide moisture. You can use chapstick as a base for lipstick so they won't look as dry

3) do not wet your lips if they are dry because you will only make things worst.

4) apply vitamin E to your lips to protect them from environmental factors like sun, cold, wind 5) contour your lips especially the one that is thinner to make them look more symmetric

6) apply a little bit of clear of shimmery lip gloss in the middle of your lips, especially the upper lip to create more volume and make them appear more luscious

7) avoid wearing lipstick over chapped, flaky because it will only emphasize the flakes drink plenty of water to keep your body and skin hydrated

8) don't use lipstick or lip gloss that are passed the expiration date because they can be filled with bacteria and they lack nutrients Take good care of your lips so they will look smooth, healthy and kissable.

Great ideas - but why post in the Fashion forum? There is a skin, beauty, or make up forum that would be better suited.

Great lip care tips. For moisturized lips you should drink 8 - 10 glass of water.

Thank you so much for sharing with us.

  • Massaging lips with ghee (clarified butter) and leaving a thin layer of it on lips overnight acts as a natural protection for lips.
  • Repeatedly apply herbal moisturizing lotion on lips.
  • Apply a thin coat of natural balm on your lips before applying lipsticks.
  • Dip a black tea bag in warm water and press it on lips for three to four minutes. This increases moisture level on skin of lips.
  • Do not lick lips repeatedly.
  • Dip small cotton gauze in warm clarified butter (ghee) and place it on lips for 20 minutes.
  • Remove your lipstick before going to bed using a herbal cleanser and apply a thin layer of ghee on lips.

Wow!
thanks for the great tips to take care of women lips.

I am really thankful to you for the great ideas. I hope these will helpful me to make sensual and attractive lips!

I tried the sugar, honey and olive oil mix followed by a coat of blistex fruit smoothies. It did a great job of getting rid of all the loose skin. My question is what is the shelf life on a mixture like this? Or should I only make it as I need it?

Thanks for your amazing tips Maya. As winters are on, lip care has become my first priority. I also wanna share one of my own lip care tip with all of you. I use a light toothbrush to rub lip cream gently. it helps me in completely removing fine cracked particles on my lips.

These tips are great, very useful.  I think my main problem is #8.  I don't even know how to tell if a lip product is expired.  Should they all have expiration dates?  I am guilty of keeping and using products that are years old.  I know this is a no-no.  I never use a mascara more than a couple of months but with other products I keep them QUITE a long time.

This caused me to go look through all my blistex. Imagine my shock they expired back in July!

I looked at the two lip products in my purse and don't even see an expiration date.  Hmmm.  I wonder if there's any type of product packaging that allows for a longer lifespan?  Like, are the lip glosses/balms that squeeze out of a little hole more sanitary for longer?
