Hey..I would like to know if anyone out there uses japanese cosmetics or skincare. I don't know what works and what doesn't and i would like to hear some feedback, so i know where to start.

Thanks muchly =)

I hear many good things about Kanebo. I think that's what Sarah Michelle Gellar started using after she came back from filming The Grudge in Japan.

Leony does... It's cheaper for her in Japan than the American brands... I've recently started using DHC, and I like it a lot. It's about to becoming my new skincare brand

I like Japanese makeup. I saw Memories of a geisha.. looked cool. That was japanese makeup or was that American??

yea, i google'd dhc and i'm on dhccare.com as we speak. Is the trial kit from dhc? Is the trial kit skincare or makeup btw?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Leony sent me the Olive Essentials Trial Set. It's the skincare set that came with Deep Cleansing Oil, Mild Soap, Mild Lotion (toner) and Olive Virgin Oil.

Definitely check into it Kat! I think so far I can tell my skin has gotten somewhat better! Feels less oily, although I dunno if that's because it's cooled down or not.

Aquilah is right. Most of my skincare is Japanese product only a few are europian/americans brands. It also depends on how much $ you willing to spend.

I mostly used Kanebo or Shiseido local lines (not intl), and other Japanese cheap cosmetic brand. All of them work great for me.

DHC also has great products to start with and it's widely available here in Japan, you can even get it from a convenience/supermarket or drugstore.

This thread is 1-year old , but still - probably unless you live in a big city or one that has a jap community, probably you won't be able to find those products on stores. Your best bet is online , on websites like Sasa.com - Online beauty and health shop and anothers that i'm gonna search and post the links later!

Hope that helps

I use Shisiedo's Majolica Majorca makeup, it's like Shiseido's drugstore brand in Japan. Their stuff are soo cute <3 I also like Kanebo -> Kate Super Sharp Eyeliner. Draws a very precise line and doesn't smudge

** edit woops didn't realize how old this thread was, but to contribute something www.adambeauty.com ships a lot of japanese makeup. It is a hong kong based site though so some things are in chinese, but I have no trouble navigating even though I can't read it.

i am glad this thread is being bumped because a new Asian store opened by my house and they sell a SLEW of high end and lower end, but i only know Shu Uemura and shiseido (of course). but they have so many cute things!!! i want to know which ones are worth investing in!

I like Japanese drugstore brands a lot, especially Kao, Kanebo, and sony plaza, most of their products are good and with a reasonable price.
