Hi all
I've been registered for awhile but I think this is my first post...
So I'm having a bit of a product crisis. I'm 37 and have always had problematic skin. I was on Accutane twice in my 20's, and have an uneven skintone with some old acne scars. I'm combination; oily underneath, with dry/flaky surface, and prone to breakouts.
I've been using mostly Clinique products for the past 5 years and did well with them up until recently. I had a hysterectomy about 9 months ago, and I guess it must be hormonal (on estrogen replacement), but my skin is having some 'issues' and doesn't respond as well to the products that it used to. I tend to break out more, and I can go from ultra-oily to ultra-dry in a matter of days, so it's hard to keep balanced.
Anyway, I didn't feel like my Clinique products were doing anything for me anymore, so I've been in search of a new product line for the last couple months. I've been using a few products from Lancome (Sensation Totale and the Primordiale day/night/eye creams). Not entirely impressed with this line. It's not horrible, but I haven't seen any real improvement in my skin. The Sensation Totale causes me to get little pimples on my nose. At 37, I'd REALLY like to stop getting acne! But I digress...
So after some research, I visited a Shiseido counter today and purchased a starter kit of "The Skincare" line. It came with the Extra Gentle Foaming Cleanser, the Night Moisture Recharge, Hydro-Nourishing Softener, and she gave me a bunch of sample stuff. The girl told me "The Skincare" line would be the best for my age/skin type.
I have high hopes, I'd like for this product to work for me. I'm thinking about going back tomorrow to get the Renewing Serum and Day Moisturizer, but before I invest too much money into it, I'm interested in hearing some opinions of others who've used it, or even suggestions for products that might work well for me. I know this stuff is pricey, but I don't mind spending the money if it's good.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions, and apologies for such a windy first post
