I'm a 36 year old male and I've decided to start taking care of my skin. People have told me I have great skin but I've never used a moisturiser, etc. I've always kept myself fit and healthy and believe the best thing for good skin is to "feed" it well from source by exercise, sleep, water, fruit, veg and lots of healthy fats.

I've trawled the internet for some guidance but I'm no better off after hours of reading. I quite like the healthy, reddish glowing look. I'd like some recommendations on a great moisturiser, exfoliater and face mask. I'm not overly concerned on price and I was thinking alternating emu oil with cameilla oil as a mosturiser?

Any thoughts?

P.S. I'm not gay.

Welcome to MUT! I applaud you for taking steps to care for your skin. There is nothing wrong with that. In fact, the ladies here would sure appreciate a man who is into skincare. I'm not the best source for info on skincare, but I do here many great things about emu oil and cameilla oil. Do you prefer otc drugstore skincare or are you seeking more organic remedies?

You have come to the right place for info!

Ladies? Any thoughts?

Thanks for your quick response.
I'm not really bothered if it's OTC or organic remedies I just want the best thing for the job. I've trawled through this site as well and there doesn't appear to be a definitive answer. I'm not really concerned about what it costs as long as it's not something stupid like £1,000 a pot because it has unicorn faeces in it, LOL.

Have you looked at Dermalogica? Their products have been the best for my skin. I have tried many other products over the years. Dermalogica is lightly scented (almost no scent) and comes in mostly white bottles with black lettering on them. I use emu oil around my eyes at night. Last time I had a microderm done, the esthetician said the skin around my eyes looked nice and plump. I get my emu oil here:

LMAO @ the unicorn faces! Welcome to MuT! I'm Aquilah from New York. I can't really help too much, but I know my friend's husband uses the MK TimeWise Cleansing Bar. It's the same as the cleanser, just in a bar. It both cleanses and exfoliates. I've heard great things about the Crabtree & Evelyn skin care line for men. There's also Nivea Men... Maybe someone else will be able to offer even better suggestions!

your regimen of exercise, eating well and sleeping well sounds good. you might want to stick to it if it's working for you. sometimes doing something to your skin out of the ordinary (such as trying new skincare) can do more damage than good. good luck and welcome to mut!

I'm not really bothered about using a men's line as skin is skin whatever the gender and I'd imagine the women's stuff is better. Also the fact that I'm going to buy it over the internet I'm not that bothered if it's womens lines or not.

l'oreal expert has a men's line of skincare products. my boyfriend uses a moisturizer from that line. it sounds like your skin is normal. you will definitely need a good cleanser, and a moisturizer. mario badescu's is one of my favorite skincare lines. a lot of celebrities use their products, and they're mostly all natural.
