I'm afraid there's no way to get rid of them easily! I've put a huge amount of effort into my skin care routine, but whenever I neglect it in the slightest, they come back again! Sorry, girls!
the best thing you can do is a daily cleansing of the nose area. use a soft cloth with a gentle daily scrub. then use a toner and light oil free moisturiser.
unfortunately they often do come back; a regular extraction by a beautician may also help. but take it from me, the daily cleansing helps a lot! many people neglect the nose when cleansing. it cops some of the worst grime in the whole face.
I have had problems with blackheads since I was in the FOURTH GRADE!!!!!! I have always cleansed my face well, but they kept comin' back! I have tried a Dermatologist (he put me on Retin A and Cleocin and Accutane (ugh talk about drying out your face) but I have found the VERY BEST thing is a regular visit to a wonderful esthetician (a good facial with extraction will do wonders: but MAKE SURE the facial includes an extraction: some do not)
I was also set up with a professional (read: Spa professional: NOT a department store line) line of products (I have tried PEVONIA ELEMIS LA THERAPIE and REPECHAGE: I found REPECHAGE to be WONDERFUL!!!! They include seaweed in their line and there have been studies done that show seaweed acts much like something in the skin (I forget what) and it actually helps renew cells!!! Cannot get much better than that!!!
I have also found that once you get the blackhead you MUST remove it (or have it removed: and if you do not know how to do it "correctly" don"t do it: because you can damage your skin and break capillaries) Blackheads WILL stay put forever! They move in and make themselves verrry comfy! I have even had one stay in my cheek for several years (yeah: gross) and a layer of skin actually grew over it!!!!! SO get those babies out right away!!!! Steaming the face for twenty or so minutes is the best way to loosen them up so they can be extracted
Still: if you have not been to a good esthetician: now is the time!! Yes it costs money: it can be very expensive: but the way I see it is this: I am going to be living with this skin for the rest of my life! The first thing people see of you is your face The first thing YOU see of you when you look in the mirror is your face! IMO a facial is worth every penny it costs! You will look good and feel GREAT! I can promise that after three facials (years worth of skin problems cannot always be cleared up by just one facial) you will LOVE your skin: AND the esthetician will give you tips and tricks and set you up with a line that will suit your skin (you do not have to buy the whole line at once: buy a cleanser and a good moisturiser: then bit by bit you can get a toner a serum and an eye cream
Take my advice: I have lived and learned when it comes to those disgusting little closed comodones!!!!!!!!
I have blackheads on my nose too and I just bought Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask and tried it for the first time last night. It is speciffically for blackheads and its CHEAP. I can already see a difference in my blackheads after one use. They are not completely gone, but they are less noticable!! HTH
I have the SAME problem with blackheads and no matter what I do, having them extracted and/or using every skincare under the sun, no matter what, they ALWAYS come right back. I think my huge pores have something to do with it..
I have already mentioned this twice today on this forum (I feel like a broken record LOL), but have you tried aspirin??
You crush 4 or 5 tablets, or use the soluble ones, add some water to make a paste, apply to your large pore/blackhead areas (or whole face) and allow to dry. When it is dry, moisten it with your hands and scrub like an exfoliant. Rinse well. NOW, if you have persistent blackheads, I'd use a pore strip at this point. The soluble tabs are better if you are going to use a por strip afterwards, as when you re-wet the mask, it fizzes a bit and dislodges the gunk. Then tone and moisturise. Do this for a couple of days, then do it once a week/fortnight. Your pores will tighten right up and your skin will be super soft. Don't do this though if you are pregnant or allergic to aspirin (obviously LOL). Aspirin is made from acetylsalycilic acid... same ingredient as lots of skin care products... but without all the additives.
Add some sorbolene or cetaphil to your paste if you like.
I have heard of people adding honey to the paste, but I imagine that would just clog your pores and counter the tightening effect.
