Proactiv has stopped working for me. :frown: When I started using it in August, it performed something close to a miracle for my skin. I would break out with several cystic blemishes at a time on both of my cheeks... it was embarassing and painful. But the Proactiv stopped it. Unfortunately, over the past month, my skin has been getting progressively worse again. Nothing about my routine or my makeup has changed. :kopfkratz: How frustrating!!

That always happens to me with skincare regimens. It works wonderfully in the beginning but then I just hit a plateau. I suggest going off it for about 2 months (use another regimen) and then go back to it for another month or so, and it'll be more effective. For me, the key is alternating regimens every couple of months or so.

sorry girl maybe if you take a break and start again it would work

Im sorry to hear that! The same thing happened to me :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Now I just use dan's Regimen at acne.org. (Just wash my face with purpose soap, apply neutrogena on the spot, which is 2.5 benzoyl peroxide, same as the proactiv lotion, and then a moisturizer)

This regimen works so much better for me and its much more inexpensive :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hi,

This doesn't surprise me. As an esthetician, when working in a salon, I would see this with clients. On some it worked wonders, on others it didn't do a thing for them.

Perhaps try going to a dermatologist to see if they can recommend something besides Proactiv.

i'm sorry that happened. i hope you find something that works! beautynista gave great advice, though.

Why not try alternating products instead of using the same thing for a few months? Or try mixing cleansers. I do that and it keeps me from getting too used to it and it still works well.

I had the same problem. It worked all through my freshman year of college then it stopped working as good so I quit ordering it. But luckily over time and now that I've had a baby my skin has clearned alot. It doesnt break out near as bad. Good luck with finding something else : /

awww...i'm so sorry to hear that. the same thing happened to me too. i used proactiv with great success when i was 20...stopped after a few years, and tried to use it again at 25 and it irritated my skin like crazy...i was red and peeling...practically cracking! it was not pretty. i'm using a simple regimen now. i use Purpose facial cleanser with the Buf Puf and an oil free moisturizer.

you should definitely go see a dermatologist and see if a prescription of topicals or antibiotics is appropriate. i am currently on Differin and Duac (been on it for 4 weeks) and it's working slowly...

I'm sorry to hear that! I've never used ProActiv, so I wouldn't really know what to tell you. Best of luck!
