so I´ve been using Avon 2step clinical glycolic peel (10%) and although I did notice a difference in my skintone and my acne marks faded I feel like my skin could handle a stronger peel easily. also I´d like the results a bit faster and my acne marks haven´t faded completely, especially the ones I have from cystic pimples (they always take FOREVER to heal...I´m talking weeks and months here)

the time you´re supposed to leave the Avon Peel on is 5min, I only did the 5 min the 1st time, then I left it on longer and longer. I even used the peel after I did my L´Oreal Microdermabrasion set and the results were a bit better then. my skin is apperently not very sensitive.

so what percentage do you guys think I should get? I´m thinking 20% or 30%

and can anyone suggest a good product?

makeupartistschoice.com offers pretty good peels from what I hear..I think the 30% ga would be ok for you..by the way, did the avon anew pads work well for you? Are they worth $32? I mean, was it a noticeable difference? I have some red spots/small scars left from acne that I'd really like to get rid of.

im so scared to do a peel. i had the avon one you are talking about and i tried it on a patch of skin and it burned so bad ( not sure it's suppose to do that) i took it off right away. thank god i didnt do my whole face

i think u should start w/30 hun. Let us know if it works for u. !!

Apparently i have very sensitive skin and I used 30% for the first time and it burned like *** ... anyways ... after the burning calmed down, i noticed my skin did look better LoL.. yea!!

Ive been doing a 30% glycolic for months now and it still tingles/feels itchy...I wonder if yours somehow lost it's potency? I did the same thing as you too, added a microdermabrasion. I do the glycolic and then a day or two later, do the MD (I like epidermx), the peels have made a real difference for me. I also use a moisturizer that has AHA in it too tho.

Good, I'm going to buy it then!

I think I'll start off w/ the Avon 10% and then increase like you're doing..I would suggest that you either start with 30% glycolic acid or 40% lactic acid..lactic acid is supposed to be really gentle and for first time peel users..it's one of their best-sellers.

jennycateyez-I know what you mean, peels can be a bit scary thing..maybe you could look into the lactic acid though. It's supposedly safe for sensitive skin and lactic acid is "a naturally occuring human metabolite" with "good acidic value" and "virtually no irritation"...just something to look into.

i second the dianne yvonne site...you can get 35% concentrations of a blend of acids which looks nice. i think i am going to try that next! right now i'm using a 30% concentration of glycolic every week. makes SUCH a big difference! if you are into the peels...go for it!

I also use a moisturizer that has AHA in it too tho. from what i understand, the longer you have the peel, the more potent it gets. i had a peel of 30% gylcolic that i had had for a while, and it became REALLY potent! i read that this happens somewhere...not sure where...but thought i would add that. after home peels, don't you all think that getting peels at a dermatologist or a spa is totally a rip off?!

I do it every other day. Don´t use it every day!!!! You think you get better results but actually all it´ll probably do is harm your skin, with no faster results concerning the scars.I follow the instructions and never leave it on longer than 12min...and btw I never use the neutralizer afterwards. I just wash it off with a cleanser and then moisturize
