im officially done

after 3 bottles of black/brown hair dye, a ruined bathroom and fuzzy slippers with dye spots on them the blonde is still visible

i dont get it, why do i still have some blonde streaks after all this dye?? i made sure i got all the trouble spots but its still shining through

whoa is me :icon_eek: i give up, ill just wait until summer when it will be snipped off :icon_sad:

okee well the first stuff i used was loreal highlights, the hi lights were very blonde like a platnum over 35% of my hair mostly in the front sections. my natural hair is a dark ash blonde (avatar pic is my hair untouched, it looks darker in the pic)

i kept the highlights for a few months then i decided i wanted to go black/brown which was about a week ago. i used loreal excellence natural dark brown. i only used one box which was my main mistake, i guess i didnt realize my hair was that long lol...its down to my ***** lol

okee so i left it on for 30 minutes, and it started to almost wash away within 2 days letting alot of blonde seep through.

this is what brought me to today...today i used 2 boxes of revlon color silk in black brown, i left it on for 25 minutes like the box said,i did my entire head, my scalp was on fire! i carefully paid attention to the blonde areas making sure i saturated them, and after i washed it out just a little while ago i can still see the blonde peaking through, not as bad as before but its still there

all this dye i feel sick :icon_redf

To cover blonde you would have to fill in the blonde that could be why its not working. I went from blonde to red & they filled my hair twice & everytime I washed my hair I had more & more blonde highlights.

Yes, you should've used a color grabber or filler first. Are there any green areas? If not, you're lucky. You need to see a professional hairstylist!:icon_eek:

I was thinking the same about the green :icon_eek: I did this to my hair once & it looked fine but the more the brown faded the greener my hair got.

no green lol thank heavens

its a blackish brown with a few blonde pieces, it is better than it was but theres still some blonde strands

whats a grabber and filler? i just shop at walmart lol so im not familiar with some stuff

hmmm... yeah - gonna have to agree, if it didn't pick it up the first time, (or the second time) your hair is probably somewhat resistant, and also being blonde, it is lacking pigments... I would see what your colorist reccomends before adding anything. You don't want to irritate your scalp or end up with hot roots... just get a consultation if anything.. :icon_wink

You can get fillers at a beauty supply shop but I agree let a prof check it out or just wait for it to grow out. When you bleach hair it get really porous therefore the color just doesnt take. The filler acts as a primer kinda & helps the color to stick to your hair.

It's pretty much adding to your hair what needs to be there to grab the color... and keep it in. You can get a clear filler (at Sally's or another beauty supply) which is usually better if you're going to be doing it yourself. :icon_wink

im gonna leave it alone and just touch up the roots as they come in every month. my hair grows really fast so by next summer all the blonde should be down to my ends and ill have my hair cut to shoulder legnth. any more chemicals on my head and my hair may fall off.

its not that bad, like i dont have to wear a hat or anything

and i am a stay at home mommy so i dont have to see people at work or anything, the most i do is walmart and the petshop and the people there are basically handicapped lol

my husband is loaded and im happy...is that what you meant? :icon_chee

im one of those rare people who hate going to salons :icon_redf

maybe its the bright lights? or the small talk? and even when they wash my hair my neck hurts being that far back lol, like i have to gulp or something

i just find the whole thing embarrassing...im a lil backwards i guess :icon_eek:

id rather go to the doctor lol

I just prefer to be in the comfort of my home. I dont like going to the drs more than a salon but at least your in & out. Ive been to get my hair done where it took at least 2 hrs:icon_eek:

2 hours?! id probably collapse

the last hair cut i got i went to this supposed to be great place, all the snooty girls went there lol, it was the worst hair cut of my life and not cheap. since then ive been trimming my own hair, i learned how to angle my sides and trim the back, the sides come out good but the back ill admit i have trouble with, but it still looks better than what those people did to me :icon_chee
