Hey ladies,
I am stumped. My skincare routine has been the same for years and had always left me with great, balanced skin.
About a month ago I tried a supplement called CLA that had me breaking out like mad. As soon as I realized the cause, I upped my exfoliating and washing in attempt to control the oils. I workout usually twice a day, but always shower immediately after. I thought the more I washed and exfoliated, the better. But within a couple days, my skin was raw, red and supersuper dry. I hid in my house for 3 days while I let it heal on its own, washing with only water once a day. It peeled and eventually left me with what looks like brand new skin. By the end of the week my skin had seemed to calm down, and I wasn't exfoliating or wearing much makeup at all. Mostly just a gentle self-tanner from Marcelle for a little color. My pores however, are larger, and seem to be more prone to breakouts, especially on my forehead.
Am I correct to assume that my breakouts show up more quickly because of the layer of skin that was removed?
Is it okay to workout? I heard that it is great for circulation and healing all types of skin ailments.
Is what I'm eating affecting any of this? The only thing that has ever made me breakout was too many nuts/oils, which I've steered clear from.
Please help if you have any idea what the cause might be.
Thank you so much.
