so its almost been a year since ive dyed my hair last. i really messed it up and was too frightened to attempt to try to redo it. it didnt come out too bad, but it damaged my hair completely. i was trying to go for a light golden brown, with bleached blonde underneath. i had already had some bleach blonde in my hair at the time, with the rest of my hair red. so i decided to use color remover, and stripe my hair, and then add the bleach and dye. everything came out when i striped it and did the bleaching of the certain areas. when i added the light brown dye... it came out almost black. so my dumb butt, striped my hair again, and repeated the process. BAD IDEA. the same thing pretty much happened the second time around. So i just left it, and went with it. it didnt look bad like i said, but it was alot darker than what i wanted. now its time to dye my hair again, my roots have grown out ALOT, but you cannot really tell from where the almost black dye has faded so much. you can only see it where the blonde is underneath my hair. i swear its about 6 to 7 inches of new growth. this time around i actually have taken the time to research more on hair dying, and tones, and primary colors, and fillers, etc etc etc. but since i damaged my hair so bad last time, i'm a little scared to dye it this time around, and i dont have the money to go to a salon. so what i need help with, is what i need to do to get an all even distributed color. i think i have an idea of what should be done, but wanted to get advice first, before i proceeded. this is all new to me, this fear of doing my hair. im currently 26 years old and ive been dying my hair since the 7th grade and have always had the attitude of its just hair, itll grow out, or i can always just redye it. this is the first time ive been too scared to just throw it all to the wind, i guess. i always get my stuff from Sallys. i have two different colors of dye right now. Both are the Color Brillance by Ion creme, both are permanent. id like to go with the Light Golden mahogany brown (5wr-5.35) but i also have a dark burgundy brown (3rv-3.5). I picked two different colors at the time, because i wasnt for sure if i wanted to just do an all over color, or maybe dye my hair the mahogany, and then add some burgundy underneath like i did with the blonde, or maybe try to do an ombre effect on my hair. i still have the Loreal Effasol Color remover, because i wasnt for sure if i needed to stripe my hair again when applying the dye. And then i had heard that i would need a filler to cover up the bleach blonde underneath, so i picked up Colorfuls Protein Filler in #2 Warm Brown. If i knew 100% that i could pull off the ombre with the two colors, id love to do that. But im clueless on what steps i should do exactly. And the directions on the filler is kinda vague. What i was going to do is to add the filler all over my head, let dry, then add whatever dye i chose. if it came out horrible, i figured id stripe it and the redye it whatever color i had left. (i always pick up at least 2 boxes of whatever dye im using, so right now i have 4 boxes total.) Can anyone help me..lol.. or suggest what i should do. I have pictures if need be.
thanks,
Lindsay
ps i apologize for any grammar mistakes, lol and i guess i should have said my natural color, or the color of my roots is a medium brown, maybe a level 4 or 3.
