I just got into gel eyeliners and I love it! I picked up L'oreal's Hip Cream liners and so far I'm impressed. I used it yesterday and by the end of the night when it's time to take it off...I had problems. First, I used a makeup oil free cleanser wipes from Neutrogena which removed most of my make up but not the gel liner. I try to remove all makeup before my cleansing routine so I used an eye makeup remover by Almay to remove the rest of the gel liner, it worked but still a lot of it remained. At this point, I'm using cotton ball after cotton ball trying to remove the residue from the gel liner and then the skin underneath my eye starts getting irritated.  I had to stop and just wait for tomorrow. I love these gel liners but this and some extra tough makeup that is semi-smudgeproof is tough to get off without irritating your skin!

Any suggestions to a new makeup remover? Or am I doing something wrong in my make up route?

When I still purchased Mary Kay their eye makeup remover was my go-to.  Now I have a travel-sized oil-free free remover from Clinique for hard-core removal jobs... or I use Almay's oil-free.  Mary-Kay was really top notch though if you can get your hands on some.  I find that using a baby wipe (I use Pampers for Sensitive Skin) before using eye-makeup remover makes the job a little easier.  I feel your pain - I  use waterproof mascara because of watery eyes this time of year and make-up removal has been the pits!

I wear waterproof long lasting everything.  The only makeup remover I've tried that gets rid of my makeup is Neutrogena.   I've been using it for years.

I second Mary Kay's remover. I never have ANY troubles removing my gel and cream liners!

Here's the best makeup remover of all times...

1/3 castor oil

1/3 jojoba oil

1/3 grapeseed oil

This stuff will loosen ANY amount of makeup.  Use a microfibre face cloth to remove the bulk of the make up.  The toner will take care of the rest.

1/4 witchhazel

3/4 rosewater

I'm really interested in the toner recipe. That looks great. I've been going through a lot of my clinique toner and this definitely would be so much cheaper!

I agree ! It removes everything !!

castor oil at Indian food stores, grapeseed at costco or grocery store... jojoba at a soap supply store or on the web...newdirectionsaromatics.com is a good spot

witchhazel and rosewater with glycerin ...both bottles can be found in Walmart.

I thought they did..???  Did you get your stuff online then?  I thought you got it from their store?
