I wear a mask all day at work and I always get acne....big nasty red ones under & along my jawline............I don't know what to do to stop it from constantly reoccurring. Many of my fellow dental ppl deal with this problem too, so we all figure it's from the masks. Anyone have a solution????Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!thanx

Hi, sorry to hear about your problem. I am not 100% sure what to recommend to you with regards the mask.I was going to suggest the obvious,keep the mask very clean and perhaps you could have more than one and change them regularly.Thi is a tricky one and am sorry i can't be of more help.If i think of something i will let you know.

i agree with the other girls...if you can't stop wearing them, just have extras (if cheap) to rotate with to allow for daily cleaning

It's probably obstructive acne caused by the pressure of the mask on skin. It can happen from simply pressing your hand on your face (like when we're almost sleeping on those "fun" classes when the teacher is telling all his stories... mostly lies). The oil produced gets "pressed" and obstruct pores;

Good question... i was half asleep at the acne class, so i'd have to read it first (i just remembered because my professor - not the big fat liar one - mentioned on class and a friend has that kind of acne because his skin is extremely oily)... But i imagine that reducing the amount of oil on the areas that the mask does most pressure, or just loosen up the mask would help (is it those with rubber bands? from the pic i can't be sure)

i'd definitely change it maybe every hour or something.

if this means something, you look hot with your mask on

This is a tricky question! It's probably because the skin can't breathe..I'd say if possible try a lighter/more breathable mask. And I agree with changing every hour. . . and also try not to keep it on 24/7 at work. I would also consider lighter face makeup, like a tinted moisturizer and concealer or mineral makeup.
