I have a teeny chemical burn on my cheek, and now its brown and dry!

Any suggestions on getting rid of the dead skin without being irritating. I tried pure aloe and it does nothing.

Thanks

i would see a dermatologist. if u put aloe on it, that should help. give it a week at least

if not, then see a dr.

I'm guessing this is from the glycolic peel you got from MUAC? How long did you leave it on? It's probably a thin scab, so I'd leave it alone till it comes off. Aloe vera is good for things like that, just don't expect it to work miracles (as in make it go away this second). It'll get better, so don't freak out too much!

I guess I left it on longer than I should, thinking that I could handle it. I think it was about 10 min.

I had the irritation on the small part on my face and I thought it would go away by this morning but woke up with a thin scab. Guess I learned my lesson

I guess Neosporin and Aloe would be good at this point? It no longer hurts at least.

I think I know just the thing I have burnt my upper lip from waxing and this has helped a lot, My ex got his face wax and the lady burnt his skin and this is what he used on it: it's called 1% silver sulfadiazine cream, anytime I've gotten a burnt from waxing i use this everday on it until the burnt mark goes away.

With those things, it's probably better to be safe than sorry and leave it on for a shorter amount of time than you think you'd need. Anyway, the burn will go away eventually, maybe leave a little mark, but that should fade too. Again, don't worry about it.

I should be the expert in this. I've burnt my skin countless times (yeah..i like to experiment with peels..

) It always goes back to normal after applying neosporin and leaving it alone.

oh my ghosh this is the same thing happened to me today

last night i did a peel woke up with burnt dry skin! I got try neosporin

I've had the same thing happen. Put emu oil on it. After a 3-5 days it should slough off with a washcloth.

I would try cocoa butter. It softens the skin and turns the skin back to its natural color. So it doesnt leave a nasty scar. Plus its cheap and everywhere.

I've had a chemical burn before from using Sally Hansen's brazilian hair removal cream on the left side of my upper lip. I had a brown dry patch too, and just put neosporin on it to prevent infection and to moisturize it. After about week, (sorry this is gross) I was happy to find that I could scrape off the dead brown skin with my fingernail with the neosporin on. It left a dark spot on my face, that is slowly fading. I hope you don't get a dark spot and that it heals soon. The important thing though, is to always keep it moisturized. Hope that helps

It went away in a few days thank goodness. No mark left behind, which is fortunate considering that I have pigmented skin type. I always get a spot after a zit or scar. I used a lot of aloe and neosporin and moisturized.

Learned my lesson!

glad it went away!

i usually prick a vitamin E capsule (the one u eat) and massage the liquid on the burn and if its a fresh burn i massage it till the pain is totally gone and then its gone for ever with no mark left haven't tried it on an old burn mark yet though.
