Okay I need help lol I searched the fourms and got some pretty good info but I still have a few questions that I would love to know the answers to, since this is something that I think I have higher odds of messing up then getting right haha

1. What are the best current Sunless tanners? (drugstore brands)

2. Won't the tan, like, disappear after I shower.. or sweat lol?

3. When is the best time to apply sunless tanners ex: before shower or after?

4. Would I be better off to buy one face/neck sunless tanner and another for the body or could I get one that would cover both those areas properly?

5. Application tips - how can I avoid being blotchy?

6. After I reach the color I want how often (ball park guesses are fine) would/should I reapply to maintain the tan?

I'm sorry about all of the questions but when I try something new I'm always curious and want extra info :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Also, by answering these questions you will all be saving the world from having a crazed orange-looking chick running around looking like a total moron haha so Thank you in advance

I have sunless tanned for nearly 6 years now sooo hopefully I can help with this one, haha.

1. Best drugstore brand - Loreal Sublime Bronze. Actually, in my world, BEST SELF TANNER EVER! I've been using this all these years... never once have had a desire to switch. It has sparkles in it which some people complain about because it makes you look like disco ball at first, but they wash off once you have showered. It also is great for no streaks, easy to rub in, is tinted so you can see where you are putting it, & it smells lovely.

2. Some tanners I have tried have washed off in the first shower... such as Neutrogena. The color will fade with showering/swimming but with Loreal, I have to reapply only once a week after I have achieved my desired color. Sweating shouldn't affect it unless it's super crappy.

3. DEFINITELY after a fresh shower. I mean, right after. Make SURE you exfoliate EVERY time before you apply. Self tanner clings to your dead skin... making you darker in some areas.

4. I use two separate formulas for my face and body. I would advise to do the same as some body tanners are not sensitive enough for your facial skin.

5. https://forum.makeuptalk.com/f29...ps-104361.html ... to avoid being blotchy, this is where the exfoliating comes in.

6. With Loreal, like I said - I reapply once a week. Or sometimes longer depending on how long it lasts or how dark I wish to be. You can really reapply whenever you would like. But to keep a steady color, I would say once a week is great

Hope this helped!

I agree with everything Abbygalll said, right down to the loreal sublime and definitely exfoliating. I put it on after a night-time shower and when it dries I wear pants to bed and most of the sparkles are gone in the morning. For my face and neck I use bath and body works self-tanning lotion and mix it half and half with my face moisturizer. It hasn't felt harsh or drying or anything. When I'm starting from scratch I apply every other day after I shave until I've reached the color I want - usually 2 or 3 applications and then once a week. I do the facial self tanner everyday or every other day since it's a diluted application. Hope this helps!

Seriously thank you guys so much.. and Abbygalll the detailed answers were just what I was looking for =) Also, thanks to both of you I'll for sure get the L'oreal Sublime Bronze, but one more question about it :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> do they carry both a face and body one? ..Haha, I'm so excited to look tanned without the damage from the sun

Thanks again!

i wish i could have read this before i got the Neutrogena spray one. i was so excited about it because it doesn't dry my skin or smell or anything but it took forever to show any color, in fact i woke up this morning (i first applied it to legs yesterday) and texted the hubs "holy uneven tan batman!" i think some came off in the shower today too. fail. i do like how easy it is to apply though.

Does this L'Oreal Sublime work on us pale folk?? i have pretty white skin and usually turn orange, went looking for the banana boat sunless tanning lotion but can't find it anywhere in my town :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
