The previous moisturizer i was using gave me big pimples (really big, the kind you just want to hide under a ton of makeup), and i didn't want to buy the rather big list of ingredients i missed for a homemade moisturizer.

I stopped by the healthfood store for some groceries and i found this moisturizer. I know Themis is supposed to be an organic skincare whose aim is to create pampering products (they have a chocolate facemask !), and it's fairtrade, but i never tried it before. But the moisturizer is decently priced (it would cost me the same amount of money if i were to buy a moisturizer from Avene or La Roche Posay, my go-to brands) and it has original ingredients so i thought i didn't risk much in buying a tube.

I fell in love with it

, so much i even want to wash my face at night just to apply it, it's a rare feeling. It contains mango, daisy flower and lotus extracts, which are rare ingredients i think, and more strangely it also contains gingko biloba and ginseng extracts. for the moisturising part it also contains macadamia nut oil, which is a fantastic oil.

It's made for dry to combination skins, i thought that was original too, usually you get moisturizers for combination to oily, which are never enough moisturising for the dry cheeks, or dry to normal, which are too rich for my t zone (sometimes combination skin feels like a curse

).

It claims to balance your skin and leave a matte effect, for once i own a product that stays true to its promise as it really does that for me, and it sinks in quickly. It has a nice scent too, i guess because of all the extracts (it doesn't contain any fragrance), but it remains discreet.

I think i will try more products from the brand in the future, like the chocolate mask or the hydrating gel that is suggested to be used with this moisturizer.

Yes, because it's balancing :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> that way i get my cheeks moisturized like they need, while my T zone gets controlled, and i don't shine throughout the day.

Wow.  Im going to have to try this out, after Im done with my current moisturizer of course (use it up).

You said you found this at a healthfood store?  Do you mean like a WholeFoods or something?  Let me know.

I found this ingredients list for it:

Active Ingredients: n/a Ingredients: Mangifera Indica Extract, Aqua, Coco Caprylate Caprate, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Cellulose Gum, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Oil, Eugenia Caryophylus Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Citru Aurantium Dulcis Oil, Tocopherol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Benzyl Alcohol, Limonene, Linalool, Eugenol, Coumarin, Citral.

The last 4 items are fragrances.  I would think it smells kinda like citrus.  I do like macadamia nut oil.  Its supposed to work as a penetrator to help carry  the active ingredients deeper into your skin.  I'll have to see about adding mango extract in my mix next time.  I have some powdered mango extract kicking around somewhere.

Actually my ingredients list is a bit different : mangifera indica extract, coco caprylate/caprate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glycerin, microcrystalline cellulose, cellulose gum, stearic acid, xylitylgucoside, anhydroxylitol, xylitol, glyceryl stearate se, cetearyl alcohol, aqua, nelumbo nucifera flower extract, prunus amygdalus dulcis seed extract, dehydroacetic acid, benzyl alcohol, parfum, xanthan gum, tocopherol, bellis perennis flower extract, sodium hyaluronate, panax ginseng root extract, macadamia ternifolia seed extract, gingko biloba leaf extract, citronellol.

It smells flowery, with some background note of citrus, but nothing like coumarin, i don't mind fragrances but i've declared war against coumarin, check coconut scented body products, you'll be lucky to find a coconut extract but coumarin is always added to them, and i've always felt it destroyed the real scent of coconut, i mean the coconut you can smell from the bottle of oil.

I bought the mask :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Maybe there's another formulation somewhere.  Good to know it works.  I'm currently experimenting on some Korean products but no info online at all.  The website provided on the containers is mizon.co.kr but its all in Korean so there's no help there for me.

I'm not fond of coconut smell.

Yes, that's what i've noticed. When i bought my stuff (on sasa.com) i noticed when you had information about the products, it was only a few names of the main ingredients.

Thanks so much for the heads up on this.  I fight T-zone oilyness too.  I want to give this a try!

Cosmetic Skin Solutions has a great product in their Hydrating B5 Gel.  You get the results you want and beyond very quickly. It absorbs very quickly so you don't feel greasy. Apply it in the morning and before bed. I highly prefer you look at their combo packs because even though a single product works good combos work great. And, of course with them you get discounts when buying the combos. Get ready to look great for summer :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />.
