How to replicate this look with a curling wand/iron?

Hi, I was wondering how to possibly replicate this hairstyle with a curling wand or curling iron...I have a 1.25 inch curling iron and a 1 inch curling wand---would that work?

I know this is an old thread but to bring this thread up to date with one of the current styling tools I am going to respond with what I use - a G3 Salon Pro Hair Styling Iron plus if you look at their website you will be able to watch a Youtube review showing you exactly how to obtain the look you want or go to flatironexperts.com/Karmin-G3-Salon-Pro-Black-Tourmaline-Ceramic-p/kmg3pro-bk   I use my G3 to give me loose curls or to smooth my hair straight similar to a Japanese doll look.
