How To Prevent Blackheads

• Washing the face twice daily with a medicated soap and lukewarm water helps reducing the oiliness of the skin and eliminate the chances of infection.
• Next comes the procedure of cleansing. After rinsing the skin with water, the pore-cleansing method should be used. This method is based on gentle derm-abrasive actions that cleanses the skin of the dead cells and remove the hardened oil from the pores. For this purpose, rub a mixture of beauty grains and skin tonic on the skin gently in a circular motion and rinse it off after it gets dried up. This procedure when used daily, discourages the formation of blackheads. This helps in removing the dead cells and unclogs the pores and also led to the tightening of the pores.
• The next step comprises of protecting the skin from the environmental pollutants. When you go out, you can apply a cream containing sandalwood as it has germicidal qualities and due to this the skin is kept protected and moistured.
• Daily masks also help in controlling the blackheads and they help in deep cleansing the skin. They help in keeping the pores free from grease and this way, oil is not allowed to accumulate in the pores thus preventing them from getting enlarged. For this, the mask should be applied daily.

Honey and Seaweed Mask: A specialized mask has been used for this purpose, and it gives extremely satisfactory results.

Ingredients:

Seaweed lotion

Honey

Yogurt

Egg white

Directions:

All the ingredients are mixed well together and then applied evenly all over the face. Leave it till it dries and then remove by dampening the skin with water, using gentle circulatory strokes. Then rinse it off using plenty of water. This helps in improving the texture and shrinking the pores. The skin becomes smooth and has a youthful look as it removes the dead cells form the skin.

Extraction of blackheads also becomes easy after the application of masks. This is a professional job. Don’t try to tamper with the blackheads as it can brutally damage the skin tissue by destroying the inner layers. The blackhead extractors should be sterilized. Steaming should not be preferred as it leds to the enlargement of pores and does nothing to improve the skin texture instead; it activates the oil glands to secrete more oil. Extraction must be followed with the procedure to close the pores. Application of germicidal products also protects the skin.

Vodkastars, it is safe to exfoliate daily as long as it's a gentle exfoliator. Some of the posters like to use Baking Soda. A personal favorite of mine is Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant.
