First - this may sound gross and second - I may sound like a moron because I never break out.

I had 2 of the biggest pimples in my life last week. I did my best to leave them alone but they were more like cysts,

I finally lanced one of them with a sterilized needle so it healed nicer than the other one.

Now I have 2 pink shiny spots on my chin.

I had been putting peroxide on to dry them up and have been putting mederma on them all day.

Is there something I should be doing or not doing? Will this red go away or will it lead to a scar? I scar really easily on my legs :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks!

It doesn't sound really gross. I used to get big zits like that occasionally too. It sucks!! Anyway....if they are completely healed other than the red spot I would try some Pure vitamin E oil. As high of I.U.'s as you can find. If they're not healed yet, try some aloe vera gel for a couple days, then the Vitamin E oil. hth...

First. You don't "dry out" things on your face. There is nothing to dry out. The redness means there is still bacteria under your skin and your body immune system is fighting it. If you want to help this, leave it alone. Stop using aggressive means. The best thing you can do is put some pure Aloe Vera gel on it. Because Aloe helps skin regenerate faster this will prevent any scars. Also Aloe is one of rarest things that actually goes deep inside skin layers when applied on the skin. It also has anti-bacterial effect, so this is the best you can do. There shouldn't be any scars left.

wow this was helpful thanks!

Im a picker and i have two mars on my chin right now because i keep touching. Im definately going to check the aloe vera.

I wouldn't worry about scarring at all - I picked at my face for most of high school and now I don't have one mark to show for it. Just keep the area clean and lightly moisturized and it'll be fine.

If you're prone to bad scarring, honestly there isnt much you can do besides not aggravating it as then it would leave an even bigger scar. If you only tend to scar a little then I'd do what Kathy suggested to help it heal faster .
