Hi beautiful people! So I've heard a lot of conflicting things about shampooing lately and I'd like to get to the bottom of it. How often should we really be shampooing our hair?

It's probably different for different lengths, but I'm a girl who's trying to grow out my hair and only gets trims every couple of months or so.

How long do you go? Any tips for how to keep hair from getting greasy between washes? I've heard apple-cider vinegar works well... but I also know some people use dry shampoo.

Thanks lovelies :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I wash my hair every 2-3 days on average. Any more and you strip away your scalp's natural oils. I used to have super long hair and now it's just above my shoulders and the length has made no difference in the frequency that I wash it. I have an oily scalp and sometimes it starts to feel a bit greasy after the second day, but it doesn't really bother me that much to be honest. I'm not trying to impress anyone. If it helps at all, I use a sulfate-free, paraben-free shampoo and conditioner (L'Oreal Ever Creme) and they have made a world of difference in how my hair feels even on the non-wash days. It stays soft and shiny and is never dry or dull. Hope this helps!

I have curly hair and shampoo every three days. I always shampoo twice to get my scalp really clean. I'm currently using Bumble & Bumble Seaweed Shampoo and Herbal Essences The Sleeker The Butter Conditioner. For greasy roots, you can try using dry shampoo or rinsing/scrubbing your scalp and conditioning the ends of your hair on non shampoo days. In my opinion, shampooing everyday is too much but shampooing only once a week is way too little. Every 2-3 days is best.
