It takes a while to find products that work well for you. You just have to figure out what kind of skin you have and what your needs are. Does it seem to be more dry or oily? Normal or Combination? It is sensitve, acne prone, blah blah blah and start testing products for your skin type. Best thing to start with I'd say is kinda universal gentle products like some of the stuff I use. Like the neutrogena and cetaphil stuff, I've been using it since high school. I have combination skin that tends to be on the drier side. My skin is somewhate sensitive, i get a pimple here and there but I never have more than like 2 at a time so I don't get any major breakouts. Here's what works for me:
-Every night to wash my face I remove my eye makeup then use that neutrogena transparent facial soap. Then I use clearasil spot treatment if I need it, followed by my eye cream and a deep moisurizing face cream by avon. I forgot the name.
-In the mornings I usually just use a wet cloth in the shower or the neutrogena cleanser again then Cetaphil moisturizer as soon as I get out of the shower before my makeup.
-About every 2 days I use the St Ives apricot scrub, and about once a week I use the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque.
Thats it, pretty cheap, simple products but works great for me.
For me the biggest thing is moisturizing every night, and you have to cleanse before you moisturize. Keeping your skin hydrated not only keeps it soft and supple but keeps your pores healthy so they're actually less likely to get clogged and cause pimples. As long as you're applying the moisturizer to a clean face. I've never been a big fan of toners, but some people love them.
