Here are some tips to find the right cologne for your boyfriend's next birthday or whatever special occasion is coming up!  It doesn't matter if it's for work, working out at the gym, or just everyday wear!

Plenty of guys don't put much thought into picking a cologne. These poor, misguided souls may think choosing the right cologne is a simple affair, and as a result, they might be wearing a scent that's putrid or offensive. Worse still, they may be the guy who seems to bathe in cologne – the type you can smell coming from a mile away. Don't let yourself become one of those guys. When shopping for cologne for men, take a few key factors into consideration to settle on a fragrance that's best for you.

For starters, it's best to choose a cologne that's appropriate for the occasion. If you're looking for something to wear to work, stick with a scent that's firm yet clean. A warm and slightly spicy fragrance like Grey Flannel cologne could be perfect for the man who wants to project an air of sophistication and professionalism. Younger men might make a strong impression in the boardroom with a woody scent like Curve cologne.

If you're the young athletic type who likes to hit the gym or playing field, a sportier fragrance could be best. Settle on something that's light and airy with a hint of musk. Guys hitting the town for a hot date are advised to choose a cologne for men that's masculine and inviting, such as Calvin Klein's Eternity cologne. And fellas simply looking for something to wear everyday may want a clean, fruit-infused scent like Cool Water cologne.

Once you settle on a cologne, be sure you apply it right. Don't spray it directly onto the side of your neck – which might irritate the skin – or onto your clothes, since that might create an odd and unattractive blend of scents over time. Instead, spray the cologne onto your shoulders, wrists and the back of your neck.

I just buy him what I like the smell of.  Usually something subtle because no matter what the scent, its offensive if you can TASTE it.

Fragrances are so personal and what works for one person may not work for another. My advise, NEVER buy anyone a perfume or cologne for someone unless you know what THEY like.

It'd help if you liked it too.  My husband wouldn't know what was out there til I brought it home.  His cologne taste previous to meeting me was terrible.  Classic Old Spice aftershave would not have been my pick.  I think while in a dating stage, to give your bf a cologne is very sexy.

What i like, and with a similar ingredient of what he has in it (something different, but not too much LOL !).
