I work it in like I would my moisturizer. Wait about 5-10 mins. after moisturizing before applying primer, and then wait another 5-10 mins. before apply foundation.
I pat on my face primer. Based on the instructions I've read, face primers should not to be rubbed into the skin, but spread or patted over it. I know the primers I use (Pure Luxe Eraser and Airbrush Primer (CVS)) do not work (for the purpose I use them) when rubbed in.
I only use a primer to reduce the apperance of fine lines and pores. I only use mineral makeup too.
The application of primers may be different if you use primers to absorb oil or keep liquid foundation in place.
I should say I don't really work it in like my moisturizers... I really do spread it in more... Cause it's not as "saturated" into the skin when I'm done as my moisturizer is.
Ii keep reading conflicting instructions.. One says masage it into the skin until its fully absorbed then wait 2-3 minutes and others say spread it on and wait 10 minutes for it to set... Even found someone who says to keep it in the fridge to help reduce puffiness? I'm so confused!! I bought Smashbox PhotoFinish but haven't played around enough with it to know which way works better.. I'm trying to fill in the wrinkles which some days seems like an impossible feat.. Lol

I have Smashbox too. I've noticed that if I put too much on, it takes forever to dry. So I dab a dot onto my forehead, cheeks, chin and nose then spread out from there.

I usually do the same as Make_up_Hawk but I want to try your alternatives now.
