between a face wash that causes you to break out and a face wash that brings out all the dirt and junk from your pores so you break out, but in a good way you know.

Well..I use desert escence thoroughly clean face wash. It has tea tree oil with awapuhi and it's the most wonderful stuff. It cleans out all the gunk and i don't even need make up remover to remove my eye makeup..It's really good stuff and i've been using it over 8 years..so i'm quite loyal with it!

I've used various other products like neutrogena and clearasil toward the beginning of the 21st century and after a couple washes..i'll notice red bumps and i'll break out and didn't know it was the face wash i was using until i came across desert escence.

In addition, if i want my skin squeaky clean, i will steam my face and add some essential oils and that does an amazing job.

Hope this helps

lemme know

=)

Well I think you have to stick with the product for 2 weeks to see its real effects on your skin. Some are kinda obvious like if you use something and the next morning you wake up with a huge cyst you know its the product seeing as really big pimples take time to build up.

I'm not sure if it's 2 weeks cuz when i was watching the tyra show and linda wells from allure who is the editor in chief for the magazine has said that you'd have to stick with a product for 6 months to see true results but having said that...there are exceptions.

6 months?? your skin sheds everyday and , why would it take so long to see results? *confused* sounds like marketing gimmick to me.

I would say that if the skin is purging, it would go away but if the skin is breaking out from the fash wash in a bda way, well it would probably never go away.

yea i know ..crazy huh? 6 months...hmm..well i dunno...but lemme see if i can find any information why you need to wait 6 months for results..i'm perplexed as well.

hmm with face wash i personally give it a 1-2 weeks to see how my skin will respond.........mostly, in my opinion, the 6 month rule is based on treatment products such as, but not limited to, retinoids etc

I would imagine that you should stick with something for at least a couple weeks. If you break out at first, then it's probably just "working"...but if you keep breaking out and it never gets better than it's probably the product that is making you break out.

It just takes a lot of experimenting really. I love Olay's face washes though, especially the wash and toner in one.

Honestly in my oppinion there is no such thing as a cleanser that brings out all the dirt and crap and then makes it better. Like an inital breakout. If you breakout from a cleanser its because its crap and doesnt work. If a cleanser brought out all the crap then cleared you up, people would use a simple cleanser instead of Retin a, or BP, or S.A or accutane. SO I doubt there is any cleansers out there like that. If you start breaking out from a cleanser stop using it

. I agree. But sometimes its hard to tell what's breaking you out. I mean most people dont just cleanse . They tone , they moisturize , they do face packs etc. So I guess another way of knowing what works would be using one product at a time. Kinda like the food allergies test where you eliminate one food group per week and see when you feel best.
