is there any way you can make homemade wax for body waxxing? and the strips, what are they made of?

The strips are just cotton canvas, like you would embroider on. Don't know about the wax though. Maybe google it?

Best strips are linen or thicker cotton. As for homemade wax, I don't know of any but a search on the web should yield something. I've been waxed by a Middle Eastern woman who made her own "wax" which consisted of sugar, water & lemon. Try looking that up on the web as well.

I'm middle eastren the recipe we use is equal parts sugar and water with a few drops of lemon just to perfume it and make it easier to handle. The trick though is to know when to take it off the stove (which I still havent mastered) so I just ask my mom

Also this recipe is mostly used without the cotton strips , the wax looks more like putty you spread it on thinly and then pull it off with your hands .

you can make it with sugar and lemon, but i dont know the exact measurments i just do it by eye. and it does take a while to master, i still get it wrong sometimes.

Thats a really helpfull recipe! But where do u get a candy thermometer? Michaels?
