hey girls!

I usually do not find much time to take an appointment from the parlor and sit there for hours to do my facial. But when ever i go there, i tell them to do herbal massage as the normal skin products cause itching sometime. They tell me to close my eyes so i can not see which herbal products are they using.

And now i want to do this facial at home, can you help me collect those ingredients/products?

Thanks

You can ask them what they are putting on you. It's always a good idea to ask because you could have had an allergic reaction to a particular ingredient or can have a reaction to a certain ingredient.

You need some carrier oils - are you allergic to nuts? If you are, stay away from nut oils.

-jojoba oil will be a great place to start

-evening primrose oil - I like that

-castor oil or grapeseed oil - astringent oil, helps clean pores

-some essential oils like Rosemary, Lavender, Clarys Sage, juniper berry, Marjoram are really nice combo. Make sure they are therapeutic grade, not fragrance oils or any other.

-probably a few drops of each EO and let sit in oil for a couple of days to let them do their 'thing'.

Have fun.

thanks for the suggestion. I hope i get some more

If you wish to make a mask, kaolin clay, rosewater, glycerin.

I would go to a DIY soap store and sniff some essential oils. See what you like, get a few. Essential oils are not cheap. Best to start with a small collection.

Oils - jojoba, sweet almond, rice bran, evening primrose, avocado, macadamia nut...these are all good. Find a good supplier, stay away from health food stores because the prices are jacked way up. My local health food store sells jojoba oil at $55 for 250ml.

If you want to make some lotions, get some gelmaker from Lotioncrafters.com. You can mix it with the oils and the EO to make lotions.

Give Newdirectionaromatics.com a try for EO and carrier oils.

Horsetails (a weed) is apparently good for the skin, you can pick it, dry it and grind it and add it to your herbal mix.

Chickweed is also a good one

Dandelion leaves

Licorice root powder

coltsfoot

yucca root

Green Tea extract

Rosemary extract

Seaweed extract

zinc oxide

hyaluronic acid

coenzyme q10

niacine

allantoin
