Please do not use Henna. It is a semi color but will stain the crap out of your hair, and tiring to apply a color over it after you have regrowth is hell as well. There is just something in Henna that reacts with other haircolors. Best bet is to find a semi color that is not Henna in shade you like.

Yeah, Tiffany's right --- once you go with henna, you have to KEEP using it. It's a real mess & a pain. Personally the negatives outweigh the positives - especially if you are not into keeping it up or for the long haul

Henna is the devil. I used henna without any problems when I was in high school but the results were so close to my natural haircolor...until a bad batch of henna. The results are also very unpredictable because henna is a natural dye, and each batch varies slightly, in addition to how it is mixed. For instance, using a metal spoon, rather than a wooden will alter the natural compounds...How long it is left on the hair, whether you use heat, if you add tea bags or whatever...Anyway, it's just a gamble. The suckiest part is, when my hair turned FIRECRACKER red, I ran to the salon, begging them to fix it, but there was nothing they could do, because it's henna. They told me, in order to fade it more quickly, use Prell. I used Prell for six months, and still had the worst demarcation line.

I hate henna.

I use henna for four year without problems. I had my own method of using it, but stopped two months ago. I finally got some permanent color without any problem.

Actually, I use a Henna product that is 'clear' by Hennelucent. Clear henna enhances shine. Henna cannot be dyed over since it coats the outer hair shaft, affecting the penetration of the chemical colorant.

I like it alot!
