Help!

okay, for the past 2 days there has been a huge pimple forming on my lip .. its hurts and its ugly. its starting to come to a head, but does anyone have any advice that will speed up the healing process? its so ugly, i want it gone for christmas. :icon_sad:

To be perfectly honest, I don't think you can get rid of it before Christmas since it's like... 13 hours away. If it isn't too late to stop you, don't pick at it. Even if it comes to a head, you will not be able to heal the leasion in 13 hours. And a ragged scab is harder to conceal because of the hard skin, dried fluid (gross, i know), and uneven texture. The pimple itself would be easier to cover up.

If you are determined to get rid of the pimple, see if your dermotologist is open today. You can get a cortisone injection and that will shrink the pimple considerably.

You can always run out to Walgreens (or somewhere) and pick up a spot treatment with benzoyl peroxide or salycic acid. Neutrogena and I think Aveeno have some you can buy for under $20. Rumor has it that visine helps, too, because it literally "takes the red out" and makes the pimple less obvious. I also heard that putting an ice cube on it for a little bit will help reduce the swelling.

If all else fails, mix a little foundation with a little concealer and apply with a concealer brush and blend. No one should notice then. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> HTH!

If I had one like yours, I would break it and push the core out. Then I would dab acne control medication on it to start the healing process.

In a pinch, use peroxide or even alcohol as a swab.

Don't pick at it. I know it's so hard not to want to sit there and pick at it, because I'm so bad about that.

If you want to reduce the swelling, get some Preperation H (yes hemmroid (sp?) cream) and put it on there. It will shrink it. Visine and Q-tips also work.

Another quick fix (but I don't recommend it, if you have dry or sensitive skin) is to take a dab of regular toothpaste and dab it on there. The toothpaste pulls the infection to a head, and will make it go away. Again, if your skin is dry or sensitive, do NOT take this route.

so, as gross as this may sound .. it sort of popped and now is gross and dry .. kinda crusty lol .. what should i doo? i dont want this to scar.

keep it clean but don't over wash it. I wouldn't bother trying to cover it up anymore, just ride it out, let this one heal on its own. STOP playing with your spots tho :icon_eek: or they will scar !!
