I put a lotion on my face 2 days ago and now i have a rash. its itchy like hell. I put a ton of moisturiser but the little bumps are not disappearing. What can i do? anything i could put on my face or that i could do?!??!?

I think it might be a good idea to let your face take a breather, its def. irritated...

Try placing a cool rag over it for a bit and just let it breath..

If it lasts really long I would see the dermatologist.. or

hmm what about calamine to stop the itching?? THat might actually dry out your face severly so maybe not a good thing to try..

Def. try a cool rag and maybe go without the mousturizer for the night

I agree with Tina Marie. Leave your skin alone and don't put anything on it.

Eventually your skin will settle down. Years ago I had a friend apply Bonne Bell Toner on her face. Within minutes, she was breaking out (with a rash) like crazy. It took three or four days but eventually her skin returned to normal.

Put ice on your face, that will help!! Also put some Aloe on it will help with the rash.

I agree about the Aloe.. That will help soothe some of the itching from the rash. Did you have an allergic reaction to the lotion?

Ditto on all the comments. It sounded like an allergic reaction to me.

Keep us posted!

If it is a new lotion that you tried, it definitely would be an allergic reaction.

Let your skin breathe, like the other posters have said, and try aloe vera.

Keep us posted and good luck!

yea, its the lotion, im almost 100% sure. I tried it a while back, and if i remember well it did make me itch a little.... but THIS time.. holy crap it itches like hell

There are anti-histamin pills you can take for reactions - such as bee sting.

Talk to a pharmacist and see what they recommend.

Can you please post their recommendations. Thanks.

I agree with this. You could try benadryl or something similar. Doctors have tol me to take it when I got itchy rashes. Even my vet told me to give my dog some b/c he has an allergy, probably from something outside, b/c it wasnt the food. He was licking his paws all the time b/c they were so itchy.

When that happens to me I stop wearing makeup (no matter how hard it is to go out w/o it) b/c I don't want to irritate it more. That way you can use a super-mild cleanser. My skin freaked out recently when I tried benzoyl peroxide and I picked up Dermalogica's sensitive skin kit...mild cleanser, mild, hydrating, spray-on toner, and non-irritating moisturizer. It calmed my red, bumpy, inflamed skin down w/in a couple hours. Didn't think of taking Benadryl, but that's a great idea!

If your skin isn't feeling irritated any more, you can start trying to exfoliate gently (like with a washcloth). Just be really gentle with it for the next few days to a week -- I find that works best.

thanks girls, i really appreciate your responses. Well, i asked the pharmacist about it and she told ne to take allergy pills... it didnt do anything.. it did calm the itchyness but i can still feel the bumps and my skin is tight and rough..

anyways, i didnt wear any make up today
