My sister wanted to go blonder this summer and used sun in. She got that sun kissed blonde look she wanted.. but her roots started to show.

She then bought a Garnier Fructis hair color to fix her hair and yet again her roots are coming in.

We all know color will not lift color.. so what should we do?

She wants to go lighter (if possible) and get rid of those roots.

We need something to do at home.. she's a college student who can't afford a salon dye job!

TIA!!

Coloring hair at home is difficult. I've done a few times successfully and unsuccesfully. Maybe check your area for Sally's Beauty Supply stores. They sell professional hair colors that your friend could buy to do it at home. I've bought from them before and they are always very helpful at the store and you can ask direction about the application etc. One time I had a major disaster after a store bought hair color so I went to Sallys and they helped me and I was able to fix my hair without having to pay so much money at a Salon to get it fixed. The website for Sally's Beauty Supply is sallybeauty.com.

Ya, I really wouldn't touch bleach or any type of lightening products at home. I did it in the past and over time my hair fried off. I am still suffering because of it to this very day-- I've had to keep putting extentions in my hair to help it grow out $$$$. It isn't cheap :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I agree with Reija... try to find a Sally's or a similar store. They have products for blondes. I really would lighten up at home if they aren't familiar with it. Can you do it for her?? I know you're in Cosmo. school. Then I'd just go with a lighter vol. peroxide, and a toner. :icon_wink
