Hi everybody...i have a major problem that has been bothering me for some time now, especially now that it is summer. My nose tends to get really shiny and oily but the rest of my face is dry. I've tried everything to dry it up but it won't go away no matter how much stuff i put on it. I've tried makeup..like powders to tone down the shine but that doesn't really help and oil blotting papers but that only takes away some of the shine and only for like a minute and then its back again. I've put toner on it to try to dry it up too. I don't know what else to try..anyone have some suggestions????

cliniques pore minimizer line, i use the refining lotion and it works well there is a gel one that controll t zone. also clearisil ultra daily face wash controls oil throughout the day ;]

i second the clinique pore minimizing line. ive used it for a few years now and it has made my nose a lot less shiney used to be.

Arbonne makes a powder called "Personalizer" that will soak up the oil from your face. It works well. Have you tried a clay mask once of twice a week? Origins makes a good charcoal mask.

I started using Cosmedicine Medi-Matte. You can buy it at Sephora. It's expensive, but I have a super oily nose and this stuff is awesome.

have you ever considered that you might have combination skin? most people that have oily noses tend to have oily forehead and chin. a mattifying gel, applied before makeup, would be helpful. i like bliss mattifying gel and it's availible at sephora. it keeps my oily skin fresh and dry throughout the day.

Shiny minutes later? Is that an exagerration? I thought even the oilest-skinned girls could stay matte 30 minutes or so! (I've got some pretty oily skin myself, all over my face!) Maybe the skin on your nose is just smoother than the rest of your face so it looks shinier. My nose is actually slightly less oily than the rest of my face (though still oily), and it always looks shiney even after blotting the oil with blotting papers just because the skin is so smooth!

However, like Kam said, most girls produce more oil on their nose and forehead (the "T-zone") so it's not surprising if your nose is oilier! (I am weird in that my forehead and cheeks are the oiliest parts!)

I recommend Prescriptives Immediate Matte toner for use before applying makeup.
