My skin was always oily, last year it turned to combo but now I have huge problem! My skin is everywhere dry except my nose! I have dry patches around my mouth and all over my cheeks, my skin is pulling and I feel dehydrated, and I use a moisturizer. And now at nights I use baby oil to moisturize my skin more.

For years I had oily skin, since I was 6 and I had acne. I'm using a gel cleanser for 9 years now specific for sensitive/oily acne skins, this dissapeared my acne forever and I don't want to change it! Is it possible that my skin changed becuase if the cleanser? Or is it the water? Or is it the weather?? What should I do???

Sophia,I would reccomend a good toner(must be without alcohol),after it a nice, moisturizing serum to give your skin some water and then nice, oily full of antioksidants cream. I wouldn't use baby oil, if you like using oil, try vitis vinifera oil or wheat germ oil or something similar with loads of antioxidants. try not to use peels too often, and if you do,use enzyme peels-like Artdeco Ferment peeling(this one I love,it is really gentle) and moistuirzing masks-I love Marbert one. HTH

P.S.:a little birdy told me there is some skincare on its way to Greece from Slovenia

Polona thanks for the advices! I didn't know about serums, I haven't try before! And I'll try to use moisturizing masks!!

LOL,you are so sweet!:icon_love

Yeah, serums are really helpful, cause you want to give some moisture to your skin too,not only oil.

Also , you might try olive oil for cleaner/moisturizer..if you are afraid of breakouts.

Sophia, I'm looking for a moisturizing mask, too, so please let me know if you find anything.

You could use a hyaluronic acid serum before your moisturizer. It draws moisture into the skin and keep your skin better hydrated.

Kathryn, have you tried the Dermalogica Multi-Vitamin Power Recovery Mask? I don't have dry skin, but it is nice and moisturising.

More information here. Dermalogica also have other masks that are for moisturising, but I've not tried them.

Hope that helps :icon_smil :flowers:

Wow Sophia... I couldn't imagine that happening to my skin. I have dry skin and I don't think I could handle having it oily. Did you recently change face products? Perhaps that is what made it change. Sorry hun... I have no idea what to suggest.

Katie I have already bought a mask from Korres the Yogurt Mask, which is for oily dehydrated skins, I only used it once and I'll see what it will do to my skin!

Sophia, how's your diet? Are you drinking enough water? I find if I'm in an arid climate, or the rare times the humidity drops around here and we have to use heaters indoors, that my skin gets dry. Certain medications can make your skin dry also.

You might want to try using olive oil instead of baby oil at night. It's a bit heavy, but I find it does the trick when my skin is dry, and it's natural and won't clog pores.

By the way, DHC has lovely moisturizing toners for those who are interested and really nice moisturizers that are both light and rich at the same time!

Did your dry skin get better yet? If not, you may want to have your thyroid checked. My skin changed from oily to dry & it ended up being a symptom of low thyroid.

Ohh yeah!! My skin got better!!!!!!! Maybe it was something with the weather!!!! I've checked my thyroid last year and I had no problems!

Hi Sophia, :wavey:

Ditto on the diet and water intake questions. Other things that will dry out your skin is cleansing your skin with hot water (always use warm); alcohol (be it isopropyl or beverage); air conditioning; excessive heat; using skincare products incorrectly and drying your skin by rubbing it harshly with a towel (always gently blot dry your skin with a towel).

Make sure you drink plently of water each day as your body must be kept thoroughly hydrated.
