Please help me!

Okay so firstly had naturally platinum/white blonde hair and I wanted brown hair so I had dyed it brown, then to red, to many dark colors over a period of 9 months.

I then decided I no longer liked dark colored hair so I wanted to go back to blonde. I went to the hairdresser and they said I must highlight it over a period of time to get it back to blonde. I did that and had one set of half head blonde highlights in and then after 1 year I had another because the left over brown was turning orange and my hair just looked like a mess with my regrowth and everything!

Just recently about 2 months ago I had another set of top half head highlights in and they evened out the orange tones in my head. I washed my hair with purple shampoo to stop it from going yellow etc but the brown underneath was still going more and more orange so I hated it.

I didn't have enough money to go to a salon so yesterday I went to the supermarket and bought two "Schwarzkopf Perfect Mousse Foam Lighteners - 12-0 Intensive Lightning" for $10.00 each because they were on special.
I was hoping that they would take all the brown out and make my hair a platinum blonde.

After washing it out, my hair was lightened by a lot but it had so many orange tones and my re growth was orange too.

I read an article this morning that stated that you can wash your hair with a mix of food coloring and shampoo (I used purple shampoo so it made a deep purple color) and after I had washed it out, the blonder bits are blue toned and it is still kind of orange!

WHAT DO I DO???? :-(

Hi! It seems like you need a toner. Purple shampoo acts as a toner, and helps over a period of time if your hair is brassy, but if it is orange it will remain orange unless you either dye it or bleach it. I've taken mild orange out by using an ash dye. If your hair is really light, you could get an ash blonde at Sallys and mix it with a 10 or 20 vol peroxide (1:1 ratio). If you want your hair lighter you could try using 30 or 40 vol peroxide but just be careful not to leave it on for too long.

I hope this helps!
