Me and my husband have some special date for celebration in February (besides, the Valentine`s Day) and he wants to order me some fragrance from ebay. So I was wondering, maybe it`s my chance to try some new scent, something I won`t be able to get here in Israel. So can you, guys pls, help me to identify some of the scents I heard a lot of raves about here on MUT??

Aquolina`s scents --Pink Sugar and Chokolovers (What interests me most--are they heavily or just "delicately" sweet?)

Victoria Secret`s parfumes..I remember only one name, "Love Spell"?

Or, I`m open to any other suggestions...

A little background for you to take into account: I`m 34 , I like soft feminine scents yet a bit complicated , "provocative", if that`s the word. Sometimes , in summer especially, I also go for "yammy" scents (on a condition that they are not heavily sweet). One of my favorite perfumes are Dior`s "Diorissimmo" (which has my favorite "the lilly of the valley" scent), Marina de Borbone`s Princess ( the purple one-- the red one and the white blue ones I hate ) Casharele`s Noa (not completely in love with but close to it), Sara Parker`s Lovely. On the other hand, I don`t like Vera Wang`s Princess, any of Britney Speare`s parfumes, Lancome`s Poison, Coco Mademoiselle ,Dior`s Cherry etc...I think you get the picture from here

oh, and sorry for such a long post

Thanks in advance

I don't know of any of the Aquolina scents. But I have Love Spell, and it is very nice, and men LOVE it....I get more compliments from men on love spell then many of my much more expensive scents. I also really like Passionate Kisses, but its been discontinued.

Okay, I'm sorry... Aquolina Pink Sugar smells like straight up sugar! Cotton candy sugar! WAY too sweet for even me!

My faves are Philosophy Amazing Grace and Burberry Tender Touch. Mary Kay Belara is good too!

Thanks for the info. I`ll go to check it out on ebay

. Just, can you, pls, tell me, what is the staying power of their ODP? Is it worse or about the same as of more elite brands?

I can't really answer that cause I just have the body sprays that I carry in my purse and refresh a couple times throughout the day, so I don't know much about the staying power of the perfumes. Sorry!!

WAIT WAIT, lol I do have a pear glace parfum from Victoria's secret, and now that I think about it, the staying power of that particular one is insane. One of the best staying perfumes I own...but I don't know if they're all like that.

HTH

Julia, you might want to see if you can get a sample or something. There's supposed to be a musk undertone to Pink Sugar, but I didn't smell it. Although, it was too sweet for me to even apply it and see how it ended up on me. Everyone's body is different!

if you do not really like sweet fragrances, i am sure you won't like aquolina's scents.

I think soft perfumes work best for you, like chanel allure, ralph lauren romance, kenzo amour and hugo boss deep red

I really didn't like any of Aquolina's scents, though it could be that I don't like very sweet scents.

Kenzo "Amour" is quite sweet and even spicey. I would suggest M by Mariah Carey if you liked SJP's Lovely. Also if you liked Noa you might like Eden by Cacharel.

The shipping is quite expensive plus I haven`t seen any samples in Victoria Secret section for example, from the first place....

Thanks for the list of suggestions

I may want to try them at the store

But, frankly, I was hopping to get from ebay something new , some brand that I can`t get overhere (and also for a decent price) like Victoria Secret, for instance.

As for Eden perfume---no, I don`t really like it, sorry. Actually, I do like Noa`s softness but it doesn`t really "make my heart to beat" -- something is still missing for me there in that scent (it`s more like an expensive soap smell for me).

But, pls, don`t stop suggesting whatever you think is worth of checking out for me.

Many thanks everyone

Hi Julia,

Here you can read about M by Mariah Carey: M (Mariah Carey) Perfume for Women by Mariah Carey

It's a floral-oriental with a really lovely bottle. It's a newer release (2007) and as far as I know it's an international release.

You might like Wish EDP by Chopard (French fragrance). Bottle is shaped like a diamond and a great scent.

J'adore by Dior. Yummmy!

I would reccomend going somewhere that you can smell the stuff first.

Everyone likes different things, what smell good for us may not for you!

You see, I was hoping to order from ebay something that I can`t get in Israel. That`s why I asked for your help, girls

But, you are absolutely right that everyone is different !

That`s why I decided to go after the scent I like most i.e., the "lilly of the valley" or "muguet" and did some searching in ebay:

I`ve found several brands that have that scent:

Coty`s "Muguet" --did anyone have that ODT? I`m just wondering what its staying power is like...

Also someone said, that Guccu`s Envy also has this scent of the white lilly. Does anyone know about that?

Maybe somebody knows where is else I could look for "lilly of the valley" scents? That`s would be great!

Thanks everyone again for your help

Yesterday, my husband went to our local post office and returned with a package with my perfume!!! And although I initially wanted to order something I won`t be able to find overhere I ended up with Envy by Gucci (that I checked out at the store) and I don`t regret it--it`s a very feminine and fresh scent of white lilly of the valey surrounded by many greens
