:icon_roll I am 27 y/o and for the FIRST TIME EVER, I am getting acne on my face. I usually take pride in my skin, and have always been near flawless, but now it's an embarassing mess. For the last 2 months, I have developed bumps in random places; cheeks, chin, nose and they're not small either. I don't want to pop b/c I don't want the scars afterwards. I've tried all kinds of products from Nutregena, Clean and Clear, Yves Rocher, Avon, Ponds, L'Oreal, Mary Kay, you name it. I've been trying to get rid of these embarassing bumps but nothing is working. I've become so desperate that I've ordered some Proactiv in hopes of seeing some progress with that product. Does anyone have any suggestions or any sure-fire ways to rid acne? Any suggestion would be very much appreaciated.

well whatever you do dont pop!! leave it alone

since you just got it now for the first time it could be from any new beauty or face products youve used lately.. i usually have pretty clear skin and i used a new powder and got these little bumps this week :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

anyways dont panic its not the end of the world and make sure you dont over-do taking care of your skin because even too much care can stress it out

i dont know much about pro activ hopefully someone can help you more there.. i think ive heard its very drying? and usualy works?

sure. hope i helped. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

It also may be hormones. Some creams with progesterones & testesterones help. If nothing is working, I would also probably see a dermatologist.

Im 22 and about a year ago I started getting breakouts, I literally got about one spot a month before hand and totally took it for granted! The first thing I would say is dont touch your face!! I was terible for touching the spots to feel if they had got any smaller or bigger, I wasnt used to them, anyway this spreads the infection around and makes you breakout even more. Also dont over cleanse - it strips away the oils in the skin whilst tightening pores, end result being that more oil is produced which cant get through the pores and you get more blemishes!!! One last thing... exfoliate to remove dead skin and clear pores, but do it gently.

Good luck, and dont worry, it will probably take time to find something that is right for you, but keep optimistic!

Same thing happened to me...I hardly got any pimples, even during my teenage years. But when I turned 24, I started getting these little bumps...started on my forehead. I kept touching them and disturbing them. They just got worse and started spreading. Like you, I tried every product I could find. The only thing that is helping to heal them is keeping my hands off my face! I stopped touching my face uneccessarily for the last one month, started a proper skin care routine, and now...I am seeing some good results. The scars are starting to fade away...slowly but I am being patient :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i have proactiv and i think it works but it is drying at first, if that doesnt help i would recommend aveda purifying gel cleanser, its the best

trust me...you got it right, don't touch them. I would see a dermatologist, maybe you need to be started on the pill as others have suggested, hormones and stress can cause a lot of skin problems.

Another tidbit that I have learned over the years, find one line of product and stick with it....if you keep switching and combinig different brands it may just aggravate your acne even more. GL>

I found the regime at acne.org which uses a gentle 2.5% bp and a soft face brush to be my holy grail. I now have foundation-optional skin (just sunscreen) and have been clear for months.
