Help an inexperienced person

I never cared much about perfumes and such, I prefer smelling clean and showered. But now I'm gonna search for a scent that I can stick to. I've tried body mists/sprays all those fruity scents back when I was younger.

My actual question is:

Can someone explain to me the differences (if there are any) between a perfume, musks, 'powdery scents', and any other terms to describe a type of scent and what they mean, thanks so much.

if you like the "clean" smell try JLO Glow or Alfred Sung Forever, both very fresh clean scents!!

as for the different smell descriptions, some smell flowery, others spicy, some food like....
