Hello, I found John Frieda's Frizz-Ease shampoo and conditions at a local drugstore.. I was wondering if anyone here has tried them and could share their review...

I have medium fine hair and the ends are VERY VERY DRY and split from bleaching it so many times, and I am looking for something that will hopefully help with that. I am wanting to avoid that "bleached-dry look" and have my hair a little oily, straight and shiny ...

I have attached pictures of these products and I have added a serum called "secret weapon" by john frieda if anyone has tried it I would appreciate if they'd post their comments. :icon_razz

The two first pictures are basically the same product but the first one is supposed to be more powerful and is made for extremely frizzy, curly, dry and thick hair... the second one is for softer fine hair and helps with the frizz...

i used the serum way back then and i thought it was fine.

never tried the shampoo and conditioner tho.

i used to use the serum a while ago and it worked really good and i also used to use the treatment but i dont remeber the name cause i used to buy the samples for like $2 ( hey i was young and poor) and it also worked good

edit: i think i remeber the treatment had ther word miracle on it. i think! i woukld search the product but im to lazy hehe

I have used the serum too, I used the light version b/c my hair is fine but frizzes b/c it is wavy. I thought it worked good. I have used other serums and it was definitely one of the better ones. Only reason I dont use it now is b/c I use Paves brand, b/c I use pretty much all their products so I just buy their serum. I have also used John Frieda deep conditioner and the finishing creme (did not like this, my hair frizzed like a mad man). But the deep conditioner is good. I find when I deep condition well I dont have to rely on the serums as much, I dont use them much like I used to when my hair was dry as straw.

i'm a die hard john frieda fan. i use the serum, silicone gel, and secret weapon. i love them all. keeps my hair more curly than frizzy and not greasy or heavy to the touch. i've also used the deep conditioning treatment.

i use the antifrizz serum in a small purple bottle, its okay, i have such thick hair, but it works fine.

The shampoo and conditioner does leave my hair feeling nice and soft, and definately frizz-free, especially in comparison to other drugstore shampoo's and conditioners. I absolutely adore the serum especially though. If there is one product i'd recommend purchasing from the range, it would be this. One only needs the teeniest tiniest amount, but massaged and left in soaking wet hair, this gives the most beautiful finish. It leaves my otherwise coarse and dry hair, incredibly smooth and healthy looking. It actually makes it feel and look like it is in good condition. I don't particularly "style" my hair as such, so i don't use step 4 regularly, but when i do decide to curl it with tongs, the gels and mousses are nice for holding it in place. The Secret Weapon is a decent creamy finishing product, that does tame flyaway hairs and smooths the whole look down. On occasion, it isn't suitable for certain styles, but there are other step 5 finishing products such as sprays to use instead for a glossy sheen. I find the Secret Weapon in particular is nice worked through my hair when i've skipped number four, or else applied lightly to the surface of my hair after rubbing a small amount in the palm of my hand. The Secret Weapon is a slightly thicker and heavier cream product for the hair. It's a very close call, though by the smallest amount, i'd have to say i prefer to finish my hair off with Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock. This is an incredibly incredibly light transparent gel which effortlessly melts into nothing on your hair, leaving it with the most dazzling finish and sweet sweet smell! The Brilliant Brunette range is just slightly expensiver than the Frizz-Ease, but i find both to work well and similarly. The serum especially is an absolute must from Frizz-Ease ... really must be tried, and i highly recommend :)

I like John Frieda's line... the serum is a bit heavy for my hair unless I use the tiniest bit. I prefer HealthySexyHair or Biolage Hydratherapie, but for the price of JF... you can't go wrong :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hi Hinnah, thanks for such a review! I am thinking I am going to buy the serum and the shampoos. I am wonderging though would these be better than KERASTASE shampoos for dry hair? I am not wanting to get my hair as healthy as the roots because I know that's impossible and cutting it would be the only solution... and it's only bad in the ends.. so I am just looking for a shampoo that will help with the flyaways and that dry look in the ends... Do you think these products are what I need?

No problem Magikal! I've never tried Kerastase, though i have heard good things about it, so unfortunately can't make a comparison. I do think the John Frieda products are amazing, especially for such reasonable prices. My hair is rough and dry, and can get incredibly big and staticky - these products are the best i've tried! If anything, i would definately get the serum ... it's available in a travel size bottle as well as a larger normal bottle, so you could perhaps just see if it works for you first before getting the full size products. My hair is also quite thick and long, so it's important to use just enough to make it soft and manageable but so that it doesn't get weighed down. Such a rich product, that does so much, will only be needed in the teeniest amounts on finer hair. I actually don't think getting the shampoo is as important, it does leave it feeling nice and soft, not dry and frizzy, but i read somewhere that at the end of the day, all shampoo is, is detergent to get your hair clean and that it is more important to get a really good conditioner as this will improve the hair most. Regardless of that, i do think the shampoo will help somewhat but i think the conditioner and serum especially will improve the condition of your hair. If you want it to shine as well though, incredibly i mean, the finishing products are an extra which, in my opinion, do make it look full of vitality and are just lovely :)

i've used it and i didn't really notice a difference. it's a good product but, didn't do alot of my frizzy hair besides shampoo and condition it. the serum was alright..

you might try the silicone gel and follow with the secret weapon. i apply it to my wet hair and it does a great job of controlling the frizz. once my hair dries it stays soft and not sticky at all.
